Oh yeh, wasn't having a go, I'm sure that was their thinking. But whatever way you break it down it was an odd pick. Surely somewhere out there is a defender of equal skill to Gorter that has a bit more size if that's what we wanted.
I suppose the other thing about Gorter is he wasn't the kind of player we were short of. We needed a ruck/kpf or a small forward. We got neither instead we got a third defender/flanker which we had beaucoup of. No-one on these forums wouldve picked him.

One of our stranger picks. Almost like it was a throwaway pick and they just couldn't be bothered putting any effort into finding someone

I subscribe to the theory that it was about the alignment. We did it to placate EP HQ. Im sure he'll be a solid WAFL performer, but thats not what we're in the market for.

There's a Vic junior with the surname Reeves or Neeves or something.

Very raw but has some Rory Lobb about him, they say. Might be a rookie option.

Lloyd Meeks maybe ????

"#23 Lloyd Meek – One of GWV Rebels’ best with the way he presented himself across the ground. He went when he had to go and provided a target up forward when he was not rucking. He took a few good contested marks and was equally as impressive at ground level. Meek knows how to use his body, shows good positioning and his tap work was also impressive. For a taller player, he is surprisingly good at ground level, and he is able to stand his ground well when one-on-one. Meek continued presenting throughout the four quarters."

Any young big men in the WAFL standing out that you know of? How's Goddard tracking this year?
GF Goddard has improved but not enough for consideration just still doesn't do enough around the ground.

id cut and move on with gorter. Id rather rookie lamb and give him a crack as a defender as he does have a higher ceilling.
Seriously if you watched yesterdays game and the season you will realise lamb can't take a mark.I don't know any East Perth supporter who would want him playing there next year.there is no upside for lamb he has been there three years and is not improving or dominating.Use that pick to pick up liam ryan or tim kelly.Would rather Mcinnes get another year in front of Lamb.If McKenzie or Schofield get moved on I don't see Gorter being delisted.Plenty of deadwood to move on before him.So we know that Priddis,Mitchell,Butler and Petrie are definitely gone.I will add Giles, Lamb and Hill.of the rookies I say Tunbrideg and Brophy who is already gone.Four on shaky ground are Masten,Wellingham,Mckenzie and Schofield. So minimum is 8 maybe 10-12.

If it was about the alignment why didn't they rookie Scott Jones .After all the ruck was always going to be the problem.
