Would love a player like Wilson but he is a cream on top of a cake type player. Better investing in a young kid.

We have the cap space, would honestly think we'd go for Wilson, he's a metres gained player which we don't have enough of, and 24 which fits the age bracket we're looking for perfectly.

Rotate him and Yeo with each other off HBF into the midfield, would make our midfield more dynamic while keeping rebound in the backline.

Signed till end of next year isn't he? How much would he cost us if he nominates us to come home to?

Trade rumour floating that West Coast Eagles have put Andrew Gaff on the trade table in order to gain another high draft pick.

Essendon were the first to make contact but were politely asked for David Myers (190cm big bodied inside midfielder) and Trav Colyer (174cm lightening quick outside runner) plus the addition of our first rounder with something coming back our way (presumably be your second - [28])

Not sure I would do it to be perfectly honest, both key ingredients to our current best 22 but Andrew Gaff would offset the loss of Colyer.

Unless we get a seriously high pick, I wouldn't do that. Don't rate either of those above mentioned.
If it isn't a top 5 pick or a top 5 best 22 than not interested.

To be fair, Myers gives you that depth your fans are crying out for and Colyer gives you some serious leg speed.

The deal clincher (in Dodoro's eyes) is the first round pick on offer (currently pick 12)

If it's two potential best 22 players and pick 12 than maybe. But I value Gaff very highly.

Exactly right, its an upgrade of pick 28 to 12 and two depth players for one of our top players.
Just doesn't sit right.

Perhaps someone like Zaharakis instead of Myers?

Okay thanks mate.

I'd want a better player/s than whats offered anyway.
Not happy with two depth players and a 2nd round to 1st round upgrade for Gaff
Completely agree, Myers is 28 and Colyer 26. I did want us to draft Colyer at the time as he was (and still is) quick, and he probably fits our age profile ok, but neither would cover the hole that Gaff would leave, an there are no guarantees pick 12 would either.

Even pick 12 on it's own wouldn't do it for me, would rather keep him. He's only 25, already won AA selection, our B&F, and is pretty resilient (has played 154 games in 7 seasons).

Nice input and interested if the rumour has credibility. I would be OK with Colyer and your first for Gaff and our second but that is about it.

If you want to off-load Myers, I would consider Masten for Myers.

I'd do colyer Myers and pick 12 for gaff

Trades need to be fair for both parties. That seems like a bit of a win for Essendon. They get a walk up AA wingman into their 22 and we get 2 depth players and a stab in the dark.

I'm not the kind of person who thinks when you trade you should win, but I'd be open to a fair deal for Gaff, I just don't think that's quite it.

ATG I would take what Yoda_ posted as good information as he is a reliable long standing source of info.
I get the idea of trading Gaff if either he has indicated or the Club feels he may be off at the end of his contract after next season.

Their first rounder plus a player would be a good start ....and if a more complexed trade involved Masten to the Dons that would be even better.

I don't think we get what we want out of the Myers + Colyer trade. Our weaknesses are speed and the midfield. Myers and Colyer are Band-Aid solutions, they'll be around for 5 years max (Colyer). To me the Saints are the best option. Gaff is a replacement for Montagna and they are looking to bolster their squad through trades. They'll play finals next year with their present rate of improvement.

They also hold better currency in the draft, so the SAINTS would be my preferred trade partner.

We should be looking to trump Fremantle's offer for Wilson if they want to break the bank for McGovern. Purple ******s.
Let them have all them. We need mids and small fwds. We should focus on Acres, Mountford and Matera of the WA lads wanting to return home.

Surely we can so something with Gaff and our first and their second to bolster our position. If we can maximise our top 30 position and give up later picks (third and fourth round) then we can bank three good picks and then go deep in the ND and RD.
