I still think David Cunningham would be a good get. Maybe straight swap Lamb to Carlton for him.

Is Tarcye Stewart worth a shot.
32 goals is not exactly setting the world on fire but if you take into account his age, he was essentially 10 days away from qualifying for this years draft.
I'd leave that one to Swannies - he has seen a load more of Tarcye than me. From what I have seen, I would rather be taking a punt on him than be keeping Gorter on the list. So minimum is a rookie.

There are 3 clubs out there that we need to look at trading with:-

1. Brisbane - holding 5,567 points with picks 1, 14, 18, 41, 73
2. Gold Coast - holding 6,141 points with picks 2, 19, 22, 24, 33, 37, 74
3. St Kilda - holding picks 7 and 8 but nothing then until 43

West Coast currently hold picks 11, 28, 46 and 65

I would be happy coming up with a list of who they each might want and what we could get for them.

We have tossed about Gaff to St Kilda with Acres coming back. Gaff would be worth pick 7 at least but Acres is less clear. I would have thought Gaff and our pick 28 for Acres and pick 8 would be possible. That means we lose Gaff and get 2 genuine midfielders from the draft (say Higgins/Coffield at 8 and Hunter/Brayshaw at 11) plus Acres. Maybe also swapping Lamb for Lonie!

Hard to know what Brisbane need. Masten? Possibly but that would get us likely pick 41 best case scenario. Mackenzie was supposedly requested by them last year for pick 21. He is a restricted free agent so we could match any bid and the last part of this season showed he is decent. We could get pick 18 and give back pick 46 which on points would value eMac at pick 29. That leaves us with Schofield, Rotham and Gorter as depth with a late second rounder but no third rounder. Lycett is an option but not sure whether his 2017 injuries means he is too heavily discounted and we may need more coverage with NN returning.

Suns - where to start. I think Masten would actually be useful for them as they have a load of inside mids and his outside game may suit them. They may even agree to give up one of the picks in the 30's. Maybe I am dreaming. I am not that keen on pick 2 this year (the draft just does not have the stand out top 6 of prior years) but I would somehow like one of their 4 picks in the 20's and 30's. A bit left filed but I would entertain Sheppard for pick 19 or possibly picks 24 plus 33. We are long on HBF and he would be of value to the Suns.

Just throwing it out there. As someone once said, don't marry for money but there again don't go looking for love where ain't money! These 3 clubs are worth entertaining this trade season.

I'd be interested in dealing with North Melbourne this year too. Look to get Gaff there for a high pick if he wishes to leave and also bringing Mountford home

In terms of Mountford, I like the idea of targeting him and either Mutimer or Lamb would be a possible trade. Mountford was pick 60 in 2015 so 3 after Mutes. He has played a dozen or so games - more this year as North have culled and are playing youth. Pretty even swap I would think.

Agreed, Mutimer for Mountford I would do.

Mountford played inside mid for a chunk of his time at Claremont colts. Stood up in the colts Grand Final win with 25 disposals, 2 goals and 8 tackles. I was disappointed we went Mutimer instead of Mountford at the time. He is from Albany so another mate for Gov!!!!

2.90sec 20m sprint and a 15.2 in the beep test in the combine, impressive stuff.

Why would Carlton trade a contracted pick 23 with a RS nomination for an out of contract pick 32 who has failed to play more than half a game in almost three years?

He's out of contract?

Straight swap would still be pretty unlikely, Cuningham has shown a lot more than Lamb.
Yeah maybe so, doesn't mean he can't be involved. ANYWAY just saying that Cuningham would be a good get.

Anyone know more bout the Gaff story? I'm just very surprised WC would be willing to let him go...i still think of him as a gun and he's only 25.
Midfield isn't exactly a strong suit for the Eagles so why let him go? Is it because he wants out anyway and they want to cash in on him now rather than next year when he's a FA?
Gaff + our first for Cripps + late pick please.

Monocle thoughts on the housing market?

Should I back my place in to improve in this economy or go to the draft?

Also, thoughts on Wembley as a bullocking inside suburb? Thinking about using my second but i think it has the potential to be A grade.

Dark Sharks it would be greatly appreciated if you refrained from buying anywhere in the Western Suburbs, whilst Wembley is on the periphery of the Golden Triangle its just too close for comfort.

I consulted REIWA and they anticipated that if news of your good self buying and living in Wembley got out and was made public, then the financial consequences would trigger a drop in the real estate vales in the area by 12% - 15 %.

So as someone who has several properties in the area I plead with you to stay away.

Suggest you stay where you are and back the economy to eventually come good.

So in short please stay the **** away from the Western Suburbs. ;)
