With North missing out on Martin and Kelly and Brad Scott admitting they're light on for outside run, is it worth offering up Gaff to try to get overs?

Can't remember if it was Hase or Karl on 6pr tonight but one of them said that Gaff was going to get traded to Hawthorn for Stratton and Dureya (sp?). Almost crashed the car hearing that.

North will need to get someone to save face ..

We do have a decent relationship with Norths being their retirement village.

Gaff plus Lamb plus our 2nd for their 1st plus Anderson plus Mountford and their 3rd.

We always stuff up with our 2nd picks in the draft

The club needs to work out what Gaff's intentions are next year when his contract ends. The word i hear from a source close to the family is that he intends to leave. That source has been correct so far with Gaff's contracting actions.

If that's the case, then we should certainly find out what's on offer this year.

Gaff is an AA and F&B who has hardly missed a game since his debut; Anderson is a fringe best 22 player at his second club who has shown little in his few games, why would you want to do this trade?

Not sure if this is a serious proposal. If so, it's massive unders. Would be a terrible trade.

Anderson's proved nothing. Mountford looks ok but has a long way to go. I'd rather take a first round draft pick than blokes who are borderline first 22. Or try to dislodge a highly rated WA talent like Petrevski-Seton (as unlikely as that might be).

Lol I thought that the 2016 trade period Anderson boner was over

Anderson is a fast pressure half forward / mid, Mountford is a fast defender / mid who could rotate nicely with Cole. Pick 6 gets you a quality mid and Norths 3rd gets you Ryan or Kelly.

That goes along way to bolstering our midfield and adds pace.

I was talking about the Stratton and Duryrea suggestion.

If we were to trade with North then they could be interested in Gaff, Masten and Lamb.

We could do something like this:

Gaff, Masten and Lamb for pick 4, pick 22, Mountford

We lose an AA mid, an experienced mid and a project player for two high picks and a mid.

Norths will not give up their first and second plus Mountford for Gaff and our rubish.

They are tryibg to rebuild and will still want to be involved early in the draft.

Sure pick 4 they would trade for thw righr deal but it would need to be an elite player to get both. Gaff is an A grader but not Dusty or Kelly.
