Gold Coast currently have picks 2, 20, 23, 25, 36 and 38 presently. With GAJ leaving, likely to add another pick (Geelong's 21?).

They're unlikely to want to bring in 7 kids, so might value quality over quantity. Would 13 for 20 and 23 be a good trade for us?
Hedge our bets with two early-ish picks rather than just one.

Just because we had a shit year doesn't mean he did.

You don't come third in the votes and only have an "ok" year, even if your team wins the spoon. In any event, he came 4th in the same vote the year before when we finished 5th on the ladder.

Quoting two stats in isolation doesn't prove your point. If those stats prove that he was only ever "OK", then I suppose Luke Shuey has only been "OK" for the last two seasons.

Even you seemed to think that Masto was good over that stretch:

Come on man, you can't quote things I've said in match day/vent threads! Noone is in their right mind during the game/straight after.

I think you can come third in votes during a bad year and still have only an OK year - it just means no other players shone during that time and that's probably a big reason as to why we finished 13th.. so other players that are consistent throughout the year and play most games will probably fare well in the votes.

I think he did have a good year in 2013, but not one to look back on really that fondly.

They probably need to bring in 7 kids. Time for a rebuild.

We need more midfielders what's wrong with the coasters

What's with this "coasters" bit. I have never heard an Eagles supporter call West Coast Eagles "the coasters". Mind you I have heard this term from opposition supporters using it (usually) in a derogatory manner. Methinks that you are the latter and bearing in mind the content of your posts it is a reasonable assumption.

How exactly does that work?

If no deal is done either Port delist him (as they did with newton a few years ago) allowing us to pick him up as a free agent, or he delists himself and goes into the draft where he'd probably get through to our fourth rounder unless someone else wants to roll the dice on him.

I'd almost enjoy seeing him nominate for the draft and then us spending our 3rd rounder on him just to stick it to Port.

Hawthorn are generous pick 33 plus pick 61 and 2018 fourth rounder for Jarman Impey and pick 67 . pretty good deal for Port I would think or just about even .

Leaves the path open for Port to concentrate on the AhChee ... I think it will be going to the draft , Brady Rawlings seems a resilient person .

What's it's like to have a calm Trade week with No big names leaving and No big names coming in?
Is it boring or frustrating or relaxing?

I'm sick of the circus show every bloody trade period at the AFC, wouldn't mind sitting back and seeing how things play out for others for a change.

Interesting that without the 2018 4th rounder pick value works out at 629... or pick 30.

Boring. The non-calm trade period happened once for us back in 2007, and since then... meh.

We mostly bitch about getting screwed by Port or Collingwood in trades, and why we keep on giving up our first rounder for middling talent.

Recently there's been a trend towards hypothetically trading all our better players for multiple first round picks.

So boring that the big names being talked about are Jack Watts and a second year homesick KPF.

Trade period as it stands is one week too many. It was a relief that we finally got some action today.

Ah Che is out of contract. If we give anything more than a 4th for a player who has played 27 games in 6 years I'll be pissed.

I'm not entirely sure he should be valued at even a fourth rounder given Port didn't play him more.
Could you imagine if a 22 year old on our list dominated the wafl and came 2nd in the sand over. I'd hazzard a guess that we'd rate him far higher than a 4th round draft pick. Some rate Lamb a 3rd or 4th FFS
