Wellers played an important role in our team that went to a GF. He's been good for us compared to what we could have had in the draft. No complaints from me.

No he had been fairly average and we expected more giving up a first rounder.

We made a mistake and move on. Win some lose some. hindsight is always more accurate than foresight.

Can anyone on this board name him without googling it?

Thats Brady Rawlings, he is new to the role and as such I haven't yet lost faith in him.

Now as for our recruiting department headed by Rohan O'Brien I have zero confidence in him, he has an uncanny knack of totally ******* up second round picks and the mere though of giving him two to play with, at the expense of a first rounder scares the living bejesus out of me.

Average now but very good in 2015.

In hindsight wouldn't have done the trade but it could've turned out a lot worse.

Wellers was awesome in 2015. He's been very average either side of that, but to take credit away for a stellar season isn't fair criticism.

You don't trade a first round pick for an established player for one good year, unless that year was Dusty good

25 and 30 plus Marcus Adams ?? His a WA boy yeah...

not sure if he fills any needs with emac going around once again, but i've been wondering if his name would come up in 2017.
didn't he briefly entertain the idea of coming home last year?

I can’t for the life of me understand how McInnes is still going round. It’s just stupid list management.

Its really not hard mate.

He is cheap insurance as a kp forward and back up ruck. We just retired Petrie and Giles. McInness comes in if Kennedy, Darling or one of the rucks are injured.

He also provides the EF side with a decent tall who knows our game plan and structures.

Pretty logical stuff really.

Partington was playing well at WAFL level where he played as a midfielder, then he was promoted to the AFL and played as a half forward. Hardly surprising he wasnt replicating his wafl form.

Yep, and kids can easily walk straight into an AFL midfield and play their preferred position. No need to cut their teeth and getting used to the pace of the game playing as a flanker for the first dozen games. Thats just silly.

Interested to know what you guys think of the following.

West Coast lose - 13,50
West Coast gain - 25,28,30

Essendon lose - 25,30
Essendon gain - Jake Stringer

Western Bulldogs lose - Jake Stringer, 28
Western Bulldogs Gain - 13, 50

We are then left with 25,28,30,32
Trade 32 and future 2nd to Brissy for 18.

Take 18,25,28,30 to the draft

Bulldogs not happy with this.

They declined Stringer for 11, why would they take give more and take less than what they declined a few days ago?

Doing the pick swap would mean missing out on a higher rated midfielder like Hunter Clark but may mean that we could snare both Kelly and Ryan

BOOOOOOO!

Must keep 13.

If we want another 2nd rounder trade next years for this years and swap 3rds.

13 this year will land a quality mid who has slid. Clarke or Brayshaw. Kelly and Ryan are early to mid 3rd rounders FFS.

Because now they want Schache .
I wonder if the sweetener is a swap of our 2nd next year for Doggies 1st .

Herald sun reporting that we have been discussing swapping picks 25 and 30 for pick 13 (not necessarily that exact deal) with the dogs.
Love it.
The problem obviously lies in nailing the picks.
25th and 30th best players in the draft > 13th best player.
However, the draft never works like that in practice.

Priority List
1. Higgins @ 13
2. Picks 25+30
3. Clark @ 13
4. Brayshaw @ 13

That’s what she said.

Actually agree with what you were saying though.

2012 was a really poor draft. Normally Wellingham wouldn't be worth pick 18 but when you see what was available we didnt miss out on anything. There are players before that pick that have already been delisted.
