Starcavich is a reach in the early to mid second round as is Ryan and Kelly IMO. They are very late seconds to third round picks.

Spargo, OBrien, Worples are better second round options......Oscar Allen may still be around at 25.
Good good. I have no idea but getting the names mentioned around picks 25 28 30 31 was my plan. Thanks for your input

Is it a good deal? I thought next year's draft is deep AF?

Also, says "one of Port's 4th rounders". Who else's do they have?

WCE 2nd round selections for the last decade:

2007
Pick 20 - Tony Notte
Pick 22 - Scott Selwood

2008
Pick 20 - Tom Swift

2009
Pick 22 - Gerrick Weedon
Pick 23 - Koby Stevens

2010
Pick 29 - Scott Lycett

2011*
Picks 23 and 28 were first round and netted Newman and Mccines

2012*
Our first pick was start of the 3rd round at 45 Brant Collage

2013
Pick 31 - Malcolm Carpany

2014
Pick 32 - Tom Lamb

2015
Pick 28 - Luke Partington
Pick 36 - Tom Cole

2016
Pick 37 - Josh Rotham

Not a single blue chip player or even high level contributor on the list. That's not to say recent picks won't come good, but WC history with 2nd round selections is terrible.

EDIT: if you want, feel free to include 2010 pick 26 Jack Darling, who was a priority selection.

I thought about some other clubs 2nd rounders I picked Sydney first up looking through the last few years, i thought well we haven't done so bad by comparison, I then got to 2009, 2008 Luke Parker and Hannebery I couldn't be bothered looking at any more teams :(

Isnt next years draft better though?
By all accounts, but we may have more to play with next year in terms of trading players, free agency etc. We desperately need some input in the right age brackets in this draft, not to mention getting some experience in young players. Trading future picks is always a risk but we haven't lost much on this for a potentially best 22 player that offers a lot of what we don't have (assuming he puts it all together).

The same could be said of any pick just before the second round. Words no longer seem to have meaning.

Ok, include pick 26. The earliest 2nd round pick within that period was pick 19.

If we broaden the scope to from pick 19 over a 10 year period we can include: Darling, Newman and Mccinnes.

Oh and I forgot Stevens in 2009 at 23. Makes it even worse.
No it can't. Darling had fallen outside of the 1st round. That's the point. Any other late first round pick still had the chance of being picked up in the first round. Darling didn't. The 1st round had ended when he got picked.

The poster who said your original post was good was spot on. Just not 100% correct.
