Sigh you guys persuaded me on how the deal was so good like pick 9 can only secure good players we want.

Now persuade me back pls having a breakdown don't say SUPERDRAFT.

I've absolutely no doubt we'll do our best as the group of misanthropes and Debbie Downers that we are, but it's hard to fault the little stuff we can see from our trading this period so far:

- We had a target in mind in The Sneeze. Port put forward an offer which would have been maybe slightly overs. We held off and got a fair deal, or perhaps even one that was in our favour.

- We clearly have been working hard behind the scenes to grease the wheels for a pick upgrade. We advocate for a deal - and it seems now that lesser deals were all we could get, so we walked away.

The most common criticisms of our trading (note, trading - not drafting) on here are: 1. We don't get value in our deals - we're always the victim and 2. We're never trying it on behind the scenes. Surely neither criticism holds if we close tomorrow with the status quo? Good work Brady and team as far as I'm concerned.

1. Is Oscar Allen any relation to Matt Allen?
2. Why are some of you keen on another undersized key fwd?

This is hugely overrated. We definitely wheel and deal behind the scenes, we just don't air our dirty laundry like North Melbourne and Kelly/Martin.
See: Charlie Cameron's manager saying West Coast enquired about his intentions back in March.

What happened to North? Haven't heard a thing from them since then

Agree that smith, Saad and two second rounders isn't a bad result.

Saying you prioritized pick 11 for the dogs is disengeious though. From my recollection you weren't offering pick 11 straight up, you were wanting picks back as well?
Correct. We were asking for Stringer and a second rounder in exchange for pick 11 and our third rounder.

I can see their hesitation in making that deal, but on the other hand GWS valued pick 11 much more than the Dogs did; offering two secound rounders and Devon Smith in exchange for pick #11 and our third rounder.

Like I said though, there's still some flexibility with those picks and the result itself is reasonably good. Just have to see what happens from here on out.

Cals Phantom draft on trade radio

Pick 1 - Cam Rayner (Brisbane Lions)
Pick 2 - Luke Davies-Uniacke (Gold Coast)
Pick 3 - Paddy Dow (Carlton)
Pick 4 - Adam Cerra (North Melbourne)
Pick 5 - Aaron Naughton (Freo)
Pick 6 - Jarrod Brander (Pies)
Pick 7 - Andrew Brayshaw (Saints)
Pick 8 - Jaidyn Stephenson (Saints)
Pick 9 - Nick Coffield (Dogs)
Pick 10 - Darcy Fogarty (Crows)
Pick 11 - Jack Higgins (GWS)
Pick 12 - Hunter Clark (Brisbane)
Pick 13 - Oscar Allen (WCE)
Pick 14 - Charlie Constable (SYD)
Pick 15 - Sam Hayes (RICH)

Constable and O'Brien still on the board, and we take Allen? I hope not. But this list makes pick 9 look very useful...

You'd take him with a mid-2nd any day of the week.
Not sure how Twomey decided we'd take him with our 1st in his phantom tho...

Kept his end of the bargain this year
I assume he's got another years contract

Oh we would have been completely screwed without him. He's a forward/ruck but if he has to lead the line in the ruck you're in trouble. Given Nic Nat coming back from a knee just don't think you can risk trading lycett out.

Normally you would, however we've got one with the same height and same surname playing the same position on our list already.
Are we expecting Matt won't make it?
Better utilized on a mature ager in Kelly or someone else we're looking at.

Nope, it was the right prioritization, IMO.
Poor attitude aside stringer at his best is a match winner, much higher talent and better fit for essendon needs . Smith just adds to their plentiful supply of small fwds/mids .
