There's been a total of nine trades made so far. None of them have involved pick swaps yet, they've all solely been about getting wantaway players to their destinations.

There's a fair bit still to play out tomorrow.

We have a half day left in the trade period.

I too hope that something more positive unfolds.

Everyone has half a day left in the trade period. There's about a dozen players at least that want to get to other clubs, and nearly half the clubs haven't made a single trade.

Trust me, there'll be more trades tomorrow than the rest of the trade period combined. If there's not I'll resign as a mod.

Trade radio. Not sure why I bother. We are going backwards next year because our best players in the finals were Priddis, Mitchell and Petrie and they are gone and we've only added Ah Che, but can't work see where improvement would come from.

They are so Vic centric is unbelievable.
Hey mate im a victorian eagles supporter, they give us nothing over here, so biased with there commentary, where i think our youngs guys would of learned a hell of a lot this year.. should be interesting year for us next year..

With a handle like Miguel Sanchez why wouldn't you be trustable? Yes Miguel, I trust you

To date we've made one trade for a fringe player, no free agent movements and swapped a future 3rd round pick for a future 4th round pick related to the trade in of a fringe player.

Sorry that does not constitute reasonable efforts to overhaul an aging list that has failed to reach the heights the managers of that list have proposed.

Sure we should not judge this on the sample space of an incomplete trade / draft period but at the end of this period we would want to be making some headway. It will take more than one off season to address out list failures and next year is apparently a strong draft but at this minute we have made a bit of noise but not really landed a shot.

IMO the club needs to adopt the philosophy of the SAS on and off the field. 'Who Dares Wins'. An international and Perth / WA based institution of elite soldiers we had some reasonably close ties to several years ago. I just hope Rawlings and others at the club back themselves and take some risks.
Nice platitudes and cliches.

How exactly do you propose doing what you suggest? What risks do you want to take? You can't turn Masten (contracted) and Wellimgham/Hill (uncontracted and likely to be delisted) into first or second round draft picks.

We've lost 3 30+ agewise and will replace with youth. We've committed to the draft. We made second week of finals this year without our most influential player and the player who covers our other weaknesses the best, and the one trade we have made has been a calculated one in our favour addressing the area of concern.

I mean seriously, what the **** do you want?

Vozzo sacked obviously. And Simmo and Rawlings.

Question: Is Wilson worth a 1st round pick ? Should Eagles make a late play for him and throw our first rounder to GWS? From what I've heard/read (notalot) sounds like he's going to gem of a player

He's nominated Freo

Why would you quit just because you missed out on a FA? Who of the FA's is an absolute game changer for us anyway?

Going to the draft indicates a bit of a rebuild. Going after FA's indicates topping up for a flag tilt. Different strategies.
Then we should cut further imo. Trade out players that might not be here when the next tilt happens. If we want a go while JJK is still around then imo should have looked at the free agents. Been listening to the player managers on trade radio we havent been in the game for any of them. Else we make some hard calls and get some picks in.

Have we traded Darling yet

Replace him with someone that can kick more than 43 goals a year
"Mmm" might have trouble getting another third tall than can do that [emoji12][emoji12]

I want tangible progress and I am hoping that some of that happens tomorrow with swaps of picks.

Question. Will you be satisfied if we trade in one fringe player and simply take the draft picks we have to the draft?

Is that proactive enough in your opinion?

To answer your question I would seriously look at what either our 2018 1st or 2nd picks could net us this year in additional picks and pick upgrades. That is something I have posted several times. It seems that is what we are negotiating for and negotiating hard on.

Again I hope we do take a risk and make a call or two that brings in better talent this year.

Swap our 1 good pick for 2 or 3 mediocre ones? Mediocre is just what we need.

OK, but what is tangible progress in your opinion?

Seems like this year a lot of clubs have widely different views on a players value. So most of the top end trades have stalled.

Ending up with four or five top 30 picks in 2017 and using them wisely.

Instead of missing out on one of our top three 1 st round choices we upgrade from pick 13 to pick 9 and land one of Brayshaw, Clarke or Higgins. Missing out on any of them would be disappointing.

You need to be awfully good and or lucky to rebuild our list with picks 13 and 32.
