disagree.
1. we'll actually get some team defence from two extra mids this season now we don't have Mitchell and Priddis
2. If we draft ready made mature age players like Tim Kelly that could really add something
3. Stop playing three key position defenders and go small like in 15 (goodbye Mackenzie)
4. have some small forwards that provide goals and pressure (goodbye LeCras)
5. Get back NicNat
6. Profit.

Agreed. It's no time to panic and blow it all up. The right tweaks can get us playing good football again.

Probably agree there, I think he could cut 5kg and still be a beast physically while gaining a bit more agility and speed back.
."
LOL just realised he is only 3kgs heavier than ezy. He looks like he can eat eric.

would like to see bunga or shep actually play as the third tall. That allow Yeo a bit more freedom.

I don't think we are in bad position with our younger guys on the list .

People are impatient with draftees not coming on quick enough but the draftees who come in and have great first seasons are usually either

- high end talent
- physically more mature but will have lower ceilings
- or have a specific attribute that allows them to play a role

We haven't had high end picks and we have drafted talent with higher ceilings that needs developing .

Most draftees will take 2-4 seasons to get consistency and won't peak until 24-25 years old .

We had 3 all Australians this year and none were consistent before 22-23 years old .

Guys like sheed Duggan barrass are starting to get that consistency and should hopefully push their games to the next level .

The next tier down Cole , Nelson , partington , karpany , watson, mutimer, venables have talent but need to get there consistency up and close that gap between good and bad games .

Rioli has talent in spades but lacks fitness .

Rotham needs a few preseason but has a lot of desirable afl attributes .

All in all a good spread of younger players that can hopefully become regulars in the coming years .

aren't most Key position players around that anyway. IMO he is top heavy needs to get stronger at the core and legs and work on his general match fitness. Fullbacks generally spend close to the whole game on ground and are able to run it out. He just needs to do that.
I really rate him he reads the play and ball
Pretty well he spoilt well and took some great marks i just thought a couple of guys got away from him hes got a bright future

Its his fitness. He is either not used to carrying the extra bulk and needs to get used to it or is either un fit and need to cut back the excess.

Yep. We have more spuds on our list still than the spud shed.

Surprised Masten and Hill are still on our list.

Hill won’t be for much longer.

Masten is contracted and no one else wants to trade for him so not much we can do.

Your assumption is incorrect.

My strong opinion is that if you cant attract quality you need to draft quality and to do that you need good picks and or gun late selections.

How do get better draft picks?

Tanking! Well thats not what we do and Im more than comfortable with that.

Trading out quality players. Well we dont push players out which again Im comfotable with and we have been fortunate that our good players are happy to stay.

So whats left? Swapping future picks. Something we have never done. Maybe we should explore this option then.

We literally did a deal involving swapping future picks yesterday. And we've reportedly spent the last two days discussing a possible pick swap with the Bulldogs.

Maybe - lets see
13 and 50 for 25 28 30 means going in with 25 28 30 32
- L Fogarty at 25
- Worpel at 28
- Kelly at 30
- Moore or Spargo at 32
- tall at 5th (Miller if still there)
- Banfield at 6th

That would be fine by me

Can Shuey still be called a future Captain at 28 yrs old I think that boat has sailed
He'll be 27 most of next season. Beams who is 4 months older was only made captain this year, Roughead was named captain this year at 30, Geary and Kennedy both were named captain this year and turned 29. I don't think 27-28 is too old, especially given that he didn't really play any footy for his first 2 years due to illness/injury etc. so probably has a bit more time left than other 27 year olds.

Lmao he is about an inch shorter than Ezy too though, same height and he'd probably be 6kg heavier than him
Think he was when he was first drafted. Now he's around the same height if not taller tyan emac. Think TB is our tallest non ruckmen in the side now.
Why doesn't hurn play onball?
Same reason darling doesn't play on ball.

Because he freaks out under pressure?

Better off trading pick 13 to GCS, they have 4 picks between 20 and 28 if IIRC and you could get two of the lower ones say pick 21 and pick 24 for just pick 13, then they trade 13 plus whatever for Weller. Win win except for Freo
