Eagles 2017 pick 50 and 2018 round one pick goes to Gold Coast for 2017 picks 21, 26 and 37 and a 2018 second round pick.

21 - L Fogarty - excellent inside mid
26 - Worpel - tough inside mid
32 - Kelly - inside outside mid with pace
37 - Allen - KPF that can chop out in ruck (may be a stretch)

The amount of panic when I got the notification of West Coast trading there first round pick was unsettling.

Then I recognised it was 2018 draft.

Rawlings has openly said they rate this draft more than 2018 so two picks in the 20’s and 37 is good.

Think one of those picks will see us draft Tim Kelly, more likely to be currently pick 26, 21 if there is any grave danger of him falling higher 20’s.

37 maybe to late.

We still have 32 remember and that is about right.

Bit unfair to take that from my statement: "We'll probably finish about 10th next year".

We have been risk averse for over a decade, time to take a gamble. If it pays off then the club is a hero if not then we are back to where we started.

At first i was fuming with our first rounder but next year we will have 2 second rounders and 2 4th rounders to go along with a 3rd rounder. GC will struggle so it could be pick 19-21 next year which is close to a first rounder. Then there is a chance Gaff going by FA which would be either A an end of first rounder so pick 19 OR we we force a trade and get better value.

Brady has taken a big punt which can either pay off or fail but at least it is something different.

I like what Adelaide have done. When you are that close to a flag you push all the chips into the middle and hope the cards land right. Sloane, Gibbs and Crouch x2 is a petty great top 4 midfielder group
