Hmm...definitely a much better deal than the "predicted" Ess/WB deal, but still concerned about only have two 2nd rounders and a 4th round pick next year. Hopefully we haven't traded away a top 10 pick. I'm reasonably confident that we can make the 8 though. Would be great we can somehow get back into the 1st round somehow. I feel like we need to draft some players that can play immediately next year to make this trade worth it.

We have Hawks 4th rounder for 2018 plus our own

Crows are stupid for not accepting pick 12 for Cameron... That is a MASSIVE steal if they get pick 12 for him!

I can also see why they dont want to because they are banking on next year getting to the GF with the addition of Gibbs.

Dark Sharks - will do. I see a chance to take some risks and be ready to pounce if they fall through.

Examples -
1. If all the top inside mids that we want are gone at 13, then we may pull the trigger on Naughton or Brander
2. Aidan Bonar may slide through to 21 and I would pull the trigger here
3. If we get Constable at 13, Oscar Allen at 21 would be handy
4. The cluster of picks means we can go a Spargo or Moore or L Fogarty or Worpel

I will get with Monocle and see what we might look at - will delay over thinking it until end of trade today

BTW I believe 37 for Starcevich is a reach

Gaff (except 1 year older) for 21, 26, 37 and a 2018 2nd rounder.

We have been risk averse for over a decade, time to take a gamble. If it pays off then the club is a hero if not then we are back to where we started.

To clarify - I was under the impression (due to initial reports) that we had included both pick 13 AND next years first in the deal. Which was a bit horrifying.

Better now - it's a gamble but not quite as crazy.
