Surely you've seen the speculation that today's trade means Gaff is gone.

I think I was the first person to suggest the 2018 2nd was a hedge made possible by us thinking we may lose a player to FA.

I don't think it's Gaff though.

Considering it's coming from the Eagles though, and seeing where they're at, it could very very well be pick 1-6. Not even being a troll here but the chance of them playing finals is pretty slim even with a pretty average competition at the moment. I had the Eagles pencilled in as bottom four. Would be nice if we could con the Suns into their second rounder too... pick 2 and 20 or so would be pretty nice...

If it is Gov then we should try to match the offer, no matter what it is, to force a trade because no compo pick (like what the Hawks got for Buddy) is going to be enough - we could have easily got multiple first rounders for Gov this year.

Seriously they are so utterly delusional. The only way they get pick 2 for a fourth year player who is a former 13th draft pick is if he's won a rising star & already got an AA jersey. Hell - Brisbane can't even get a top 10 pick for a third year developing KPF who was pick 2.

Really happy with that trade for us. We get a good shot at the best 50 kids available whilst keeping our first.

For next year getting GCs second back is great as long as they don't shoot up the ladder and we don't drop a lot. I also think the club feels that if Gaff chooses to go we'll get another first rounder anyway.
