Happy Thursday lads, my little piece of news for ya is this, Josh Kelly now looks a little more likely to stay at GWS, HOWEVER, his preferred preference would be to actually come to St.Kilda and if the saints came knocking he would have no hesitation on signing on the dotted line for us. As a Brighton grammar and sandy dragons kid he wants to come and play for us. However from what I've just been told the club hasn't been smart enough as of yet to approach him with a serious offer. Lets hope that changes.

So I take it from the direction of the thread that we are recruiting Daniel Chick?
The bloke chopped off a finger in order to continue his footy career. You have to admire dedication like that :thumbsu:

Perhaps if Wayne Carey had chosen to have his errant digit surgically removed, then he may have had an even longer and more successful career with his original club

Define 'serious offer', dubya.

I'd pay him whatever he wants - GUN

Yes our club is not smart enough to approach an out of contract player perfect for us when we have millions in cap space snd three first round pick.

Probably dont know he is OOC and wants to play for us.

That Ameet and Trout. What amateurs.
No see thats just being silly, its just from what i have heard we have not yet offered him a sure deal, its just what i have been told, as always i could be wrong, i just back in what i get told

Waldy has connections I believe. I think that what he says is probably accurate as I heard another with connections recently say there was some news from up North that wasn't meant for public knowledge yet and concerned us. It makes sense. I actually hope we don't make "serious offer" like the one North is talking about. If we paid his $800,000 a year for 4 years it should be way overs for a kid his age but still has a heap of potential growth built in to it.

Dafaq????? You just made my year waldy. And I trust your sources, the fact that you don't post often just makes them all the more pants stretching.

Go get him sainters!

I somehow think even gets a bit shorter after that..

EDIT: kegs you've won this longer battle.

Is Longer really that much of an upgrade on Hickey in the ruck? Like not around the ground but in the ruck itself.

It seems to be like because he's more muscly, and maybe a centimeter taller, the assumption is that he's a better or more physical ruckman.

I'm not having a go at anyone but I'm wondering where the notion that Billy is more physical comes from?
The weird thing is when you see Billy up close he's much slighter looking than you think and Hickey is the opposite, Hickey has legs like tree trunks and is like Spider Everett in build with a low centre of gravity and scrawny top.

Any chance us yet to actually table a serious offer could be due to a Fyfe or someone letting us know we're a chance depending on the fortunes of the season?

I reckon that's spot on, we are working on a very big fish landing and Kelly doesn't have the same impact as landing Fyfe or Dusty, if they both sign Josh might be an instant millionaire.
