Roberton averaging 24 disposals at 80% efficiency and 7 marks a game.
Explain to me how he's easily replaced please?
Totally agree MG he is a valuable player and we need to retain if we are building towards a flag, he still has 5 good years left barring injury a loss of a player like Roberton can set the process back 1 season as you try & find that replacement.

Roberton would be AA if they named the team now, was at 100% efficiency on Saturday night if the afl site can be believed.

Don't worry 194 cm guys who can play tall or small with those stats are a dime a dozen.

Tucker, Duggan, Lever, Atkins - any would look very nice in a Saints jumper. Not to mention Kelly who really should be training already down at Seaford in preparation for 2018.

White hasn't quite come on as quickly as I'd hoped but he would be the best replacement on our list (long term). Its a big step down though based on this years form. The Irish may surprise us too.

Having said that, if its 700k, I'd put that and Dunstan's salary towards Lever. How does the first we get for Robbo, ontraded to Crows with Dunstan for Lever sound?

Bains is just as likely to pull something crazy like that off. With Crows looking at key defenders in this years draft perhaps they know Lever is a good chance to walk.

Obviously you have no idea what Dingley is like
They purchased the old tip correct me if I'm wrong, it would have to meet all sorts of EPA clean up regulations.

It's hard enough to clean up and build on an old service station site, I've seen plenty left for the best part of ten years.

Dingley village and surrounding suburbs, no your right I don't get there often but I remember it as a nice enough place.

He's deceptively tall and a good player but essentially he's a loose defender/back flanker. Of which, are a dime a dozen.
Every club has plenty of half bank flankers, but they don't have plenty of good ones. Robbo is quite easily our best.

Losing Roberton would be a big kick in the teeth. He's one player who makes me feel relaxed when he has the footy - you just know it will hit a target.

In saying that, Half Back is one position we are pretty well stacked in. But he's close to the best in the business based on this years form.

They bought the old clean landfill site, no EPA nothing to clean up. Also there are no tips left in Dingley, my family moved there in the early 80's, i am still at my families home at least once a week.

KS Environmental Services are across the road from the Hawks base.

When you say landfill site I'm not quite sure what mean, was it or wasn't it a tip.

While we bent hawthorn over last trade period, they are far from stupid.
Offering overs for Robbo would be for good reason. He is worth it. As it stands right now I have him as our third best player. Certainly top 5.
Players like Mckenzie and White will replace Robbo as well as Siposs replaced BJ. Quite simply, they won't.
Pay him, keep him, and continue to flourish.

It wasnt a household waste tip, meaning it was clean fill, dirt gravel concrete etc, you know environmentally friendly, nothing to decompose and create Methane.

George KS Environmental Services arn't across the road from the Hawks base, its all housing on Tootal Rd with KS over on Boundary rd separated by Grange rd.

Anyway ask Freezer he lived out there long enough :)
Enough of Dingley Village, and back to Robbo.

If Hawthorn are in fact offering him $700K PA he'd be worth a fair bit and given that they don't have a pick this year that's worth a damn, and their 2nd next year is no-where near enough, they'd potentially have to either include their 2018 first in some capacity, or someone pretty good off their list (which would largely defeat the purpose of getting in someone like Robbo).

So logic would suggest that maybe it would be Robbo and change for their 2018 first. Which would have the potential to work out exceptionally well for us again!
I'm told that next year's draft is very shallow but 2019 will be a super draft... ;)

Still smells on a windy day thanks to Clayton tips.

You do understand the point that others were trying to make though. It stinks.

I reckon losing Robbo would be a disaster. It would be near impossible to replace him with out spending huge money else where to get a player who was similar and if it's someone like Johanissen he gets a heap of it and can run but turns over every second kick and is still probably going to cost $200000 more preseason anyway. This is a key signing, he's probably less replaceable than any of current backs, even Geary.
