Yes, Paddy is much more important than Robbo. As are good mids and good KPD'ers. Half backs aren't so valuable given the ease of playing there and the sheer number of them on our list. He's good but nowhere near the most important player in the team. I'd have the following ahead of him as more important going forward:

Steven
Ross
Gresham
Carlisle
Acres
Steele
Billings
Newnes
Bruce
Membrey
Paddy
Sinclair
there are so many of those guys who haven't even established themselves yet and despite promise might not make it to Robbo's level still. Half back flanks aren't what they used to be. Running half backs are the play makers in modern footy and Dylan is close to elite. To me mids are much more replaceable than a good HBF. There are some clubs with 6 a grade or higher mids but still struggle with a good running half back brigade. Collingwood are really lacking there despite a great midfield.

Their midfield is Squibbs, Murphy and Cripps and they run SPS through their from time to time along with Fisher Kerridge etc

They are carried by their older blokes more than anything and have no real depth there at all and a shite forward line. I get they have a Mckay brother in the VFL but there's not much there.

Would they give up 2 top 5 picks for Kelly and change or get talent in the draft.
They seem to have a bit of a top up through GWS strategy.

Sam McClure still thinks if josh Kelly leaves GWS, Carlton are the front runners
I agree with Sam on that however I do think Carlton list is a bit of fools gold. Is still heavily reliant on the likes of Murphy and Gibbs who are nearing retirement.

Kelly will get a lot of attention at Carlton

I think you are forgetting about Charlie Curnow who looks like he is going to be a star. If McStay comes good then they're laughing.

Yes they are carried by their older guys but so we're we for a fair while. Kelly, Cripps and SPS would be close to the best starting midfield in the comp in a couple of years.

They will likely get something decent for Gibbs as well. They can keep building their depth and key forwards stocks by using second and third round picks as well as picking up a FA or two. I'd be pretty excited if I were a Blues supporter.

I fixed it for you. Important to note though I said most important, not most important going forward. These players will be more imporant as our other hbfs get better and we could eventually cover losing Robbo to some degree. atm though, Robbo and Webster are absolutely critical to our gameplan of fast kicking through the centre while still being able to nullify their direct opposition.

Lever to Carlton
Gibbs to Adelaide
Smith to Collingwood

No one will go to Collingwood while they are in turmoil players need to know who the coach is & need club security while speculation is rife about Buckley that means all bets off as far as player movements to Collingwood.

Lever will not be at Carlton

Love the passion RE Robbo.

He is having a career best season and a vital cog.

However, ultimately you cannot be held to ransom by any one player, and not saying he would do that.

Like other players, you have to weigh it up. Would hate to see him go, but you don't screw up years of planning for the sake of keeping one player.

Wouldn't mind if Carlton get him tbh, they'd give up 2 top 5 draft picks to get him which would **** their rebuild no doubt.

They have a gun coach and an extremely defensive game plan to shield their uneven list. They need more talent and a spread of it rather than one bloke.
We'll be absolutely shattered of the Blues get Kelly & we don't.

Two picks in an average draft v a gun from a super draft?

By god people overrate picks.
