IMHO there is still enough goodwill for the coach and recruiting staff to allow them to rethink and reset without being shown the door.

I hope they don't feel pressured to make arse covering recruitment decisions, if we get it wrong here it could go horribly wrong.

Are you actually stupid? Like seriously at this point I'm curious. 2 Independent events = 4 outcomes. The 2 possible results of each event being (Gun) or (Not Gun). Assuming each event has a 50% chance of occuring yhe 4 outcomes of these events are.

First pick (Gun), Second pick (Gun).

First pick (Gun), Second pick (Not Gun).

First pick (Not Gun), Second pick (Gun).

First pick (Not Gun), Second pick (Not Gun).

What about this do you not understand? Did you even pass Primary School?

It's over simplified at that though, even though the basic premise is right. You can get a Bont or a Sharenberg, a Jack Watts or a Billy Longer. Josh Kelly or Jack Billing or Tom Boyd even. Anyway it's like flipping several magic coins that can come up any way and turn into any monetary value. It's almost like a highly paying out pokies machine. Top ten most spins pay out unless you are extremely unlucky.....it's just 2 out of ten spins pay out a huge jackpot, 2 nearly jack pot, another 2 a bit further back, a couple who will get to 150 games as solid citizens and a couple will be the bad spins that through injury or other issues don't really come on.

Giving up what will most likely be two top 10 spins for one player guarantees you a result of getting a good payout but you might miss out on two who might even be Chris Judd and Buddy Franklin. I love Josh Kelly but he's not you match winning type player like Judd or Franklin.

We really do need mids at the draft. What I don't get is our mids get big numbers but it doesn't equate to any scoring at all. We are certainly handballing far to much. Won't be the game plan but we are under so much pressure we don't have any other options

The quality id too condensed. Steven and Ross are elite quality then it's a gulf. If you sat on those two we drop away sharply. Koby Stevens was used as a tagger most of last night so we lost another contributor and Steele then had a go but looks a bit tired as it is. They were pretty quick too so he couldn't do his usual defensive job even. Most other clubs have 4 to 6 top line mids we have 2 and a couple of okay ones.

I find it very frustrating that we have a revolving door at forward pocket.

We either have an obsession with forward pockets, how many are on our list of 40? Or we don't allow players who earn a recall in the twos playing midfield to show what they can do in the firsts.

Yeah for sure, I reckon we need the immediate injection of a gun mid too, both for morale, immediate on-field and also age spread of list.
My ideal is a Kelly and 2 mids from draft -- 1 x first round and 1 x whatever else we got!
Fee like we'll trade for kpd depth too.

I like the way everyone says this but just explain why it's wrong. Sand don't use the heads or tails example because we know that can't be right. If there are 20 picks and you have 2 there is no way it's 75% chance he will be a gun. The first pick is 50% and then the second pick is still 50%. Apart from getting told I'm wrong how about telling why.

After last nights game, it now seems very apparent that we are know where near a finals team.

I don't know if it is the game plan, the players we currently have or Richo's assistant coaches.

Some people, have already alluded that it may even be Richo himself.

I don't believe Richo is the problem, but I could be wrong, it maybe time to move on some or all of the assistant coaches, but as this thread is about trade and drafting, do we put all our eggs in 1 basket and lure Kelly, or do we use what is shaping to be low picks on a couple of guys that may take years to show how good they are.

I must admit, I'm glad it is not me making the decision, because if we get it wrong, we could look like Melbourne's rebuild.

The debate on whether to go for our picks is beyond my mathematical skills:), but 2 in the hand.

Just looked at the draw and every game for the rest of the year looks winnable. Apart from port in port and possibly Sydney in Sydney. Not if we play like last night thou.
Thought McCartin looked a lot better too. Just needs more games into him.
I reckon each and every one of those teams would be considering US as their winnable.

We obviously haven't but as you sane I wrong and it's a 75% chance of a gun with 2 picks then I'm interested in the odds with 10 picks. And popped corn. How is the ignore. It isn't ruining a thread querying the odds of getting a gun in the draft. It's about the trade and draft
