If we had Sloane at the last stoppage against Port, we win. Simple. Oozes leadership and kicks goals.

Dunstan did show some promise towards the end of the year and it would be sad to see him go but the chance to get a top 5 player is too good to miss.

Pick 8 and Dunstan for Sloane is a win/win.
Any thoughts on Dunstans last 2 games -32 and 30 touches , pretty much outstanding.
Would be sad to lose the guy once he has come good and he is only 23 , any thoughts on this - I really don't know if pick 8 and him is to much

It has been speculated that Tigers are looking to trade one of their 1st round picks for a ready made player. Load up and go again and hope the inevitable hangover doesn't spoil next year.

Hawks have their eyes on one of their picks and may offer up a tall forward, but Tigers are open to offers.
If we can give them armo for one of those picks we would be laughing..

Fine you've pulled my leg. We are trading Roo for Lynch Martin and May. Gold coast are also willing to offer their first pick if we include wright and Lonie in the deal. They need a player of Rooeys stature and leadership for their flag tilt next year
not to mention; it's done.

6 years.

It's done.

Interesting insights from all. Much discussions.
I have been a long time lurker, former poster, rebranded after a few years away, some of you may know my previous account.. Good to be back!

- St Kilda are looking into Sloane heavily, personally, don't think adelaide will trade him regardless but nonetheless, few options are being considered, ala, pick swaps, player swaps and potentially multiple teams involved..

Then it's Bruce to Tigers...pick 15 and 8 to crows for Sloan keep pick 7.
Firstly. We are not trading Bruce. Secondly Sloane isn't worth 2 firsts. A first and a second.

Thirdly if we traded out Bruce we would need another forward as Battle and Paddy can't be expected to do the work of replacing Roo and Bruce alongside members

He was great in those games but I also remember the goals he cost us in the first quarter against Melbourne with awful turnovers.

You need to give something to get something. His current trade value might be the highest it will ever be after this two 30 possession games. At round 10 we probably would've packed his bags for him.

Sloane would have a massive impact on and off the field. If he is available, it's a no brainer for me.

Disagree...Paddy must be expected to do this...that is actually his job as an employee of our club. If we have high expectations the indivuals who can will meet those expectations...as soon as u start making excuses...then it falls apart.

I would rather trade Bruce than Dunstan.

I'm just spitballing here after chatting with a mate.

Adelaide would do Gibbs for Sloane straight swap, possibly. Carlton might push for more as most of his contract is paid. Both OOC end of 2018 anyway.

What if:
-Sloane to Saints
-Gibbs to Crows
-8 to Blues

And to ease Carlton with cap situation with send them a player with a years salary paid. Just something left field. Means we don't have to send Dunstan but can still get the trade done at a reasonable cost.
Fair all round

Bruce isn't going anywhere. He is prominently featured in all our 2018 membership advertising, meaning he will not be traded and isn't on the table. Unless we are offered a mega god father deal for him, which wont happen.

Please dont waste people's time with hypothetical Bruce trades.

yeah by move on i just meant transition away from playing them. once theyre gone, who else besides steele and dunstan play predominantly inside
To me Steele, Koby Stevens , Dunstan and Armitage are our best inside mids and are all hard at the ball and player.

Steele beat Pendleberry and is going to be a ripper going by his first season.
Koby played great against West Coast , Dogs, Tigers, Hawks and Freo about 29 disps in each of these games
Dunstan came back after round 18 and played very good picking up 32 and 30 in his last 2 games
Armo is most probably the best , but that when he could get on the park.

To lose one would not be good , price wise 8 and next years 2nd would be enough for Sloane or Gaff wouldn't it ?

Last 6 games he averaged 27.8 disposals and a goal. But lots seem ready to trade.

I think west coast came to us and said we want this for gaff and we told them to stick their beaks where the sun don't shine. Regardless of this boards opinion Acres is highly rated and for much of the first half of his draft year he was touted top 5 even top 3 until he hurt his shoulder. Players his size take time. He can accumulate the ball as good as elite mids
Must agree Acres, Dunstan, Sinclair, Gresham, Billings, White, McKenzie , McCartin are our future and after putting time and games into them we can't trade them off, please if they want to trade use a first rounder and use Weller , Hickey , Armitage , Minchington , Wright for trades
and I don't want to lose Armo because if he can get fit he is one of our best players

He wasn't the only one. Can remember Stevens and Ross in that first quarter turning the ball over and goals scored as a result.
24 touches 2 goals 4 turnovers. Not great but far from our worst.

Yes trading Dunstan now would be very silly. Last quarter of the season he appeared to really break out. If he played a whole season of that quality he would be a gun. I'd wait on him personally, was part of that McEvoy trade and seems to be just realising his potential at the moment. 2018 could be huge for him.
