How do you see the proposed trade working?

Are carlton looking for picks for the horde of players they're after? But won't they get more for Gibbs
Thankfully I'm just a keen campaigner and therefore I don't need to worry about logistics so how it gets done... I'm not sure

My take would be 7+8 for 3 and then sending 1 of Lonie or Hickey to GWS along with potentially a future second round for smith

I'm GetASaintUpYa and that's my take

Maybe if they throw in Adelaides first round pick they may get for Gibbs's?

Otherwise it isn't worth it.
Exactly, dont want to panic but some of the trades that our very own have come up with and even the media has got me sitting on the edge.

Some folk need to not throw away the farm.

Yep, the same Ned Guy who manages both Lever and Smith, both of whom Collingwood is interested in, is about to be named their list manager.

No issues there at all. Nup. None.

On what planet is this acceptable?
If they manage to pull that trade off (Lever,Smith) then hats off to Eddie and everyone involved.

If neither end up at the Pies then it will be fine. But would think number of clubs not too pleased if one or both end up there.

Pick 3 is about to become Pick 4 when Rockliff signs - it's too high to give up both 7 & 8 (or now 8 & 9). I'd only consider that sort of deal with Bris or maybe GC.
Either include hickey or what we get for hickey and trade 8 and 9 for 2 and 13 values hickey around pick 30. With pick 2 we can dow/ldu/rayner, and 13 we can get obrien or trade 13 for Smith and maybe third future second or our second back.

So he goes to Collingwood as list manager with two of his players up to their eyeballs in changing clubs....

that's a little like insider trading don't you think? o_O
Not like Collingwood to indulge in a spot of conflict of interest at all...

Remember Athletics Victoria selling Olympic Park to Collingwood while Eddie was a board member of Athletics Australia (their overseer) and also the President of Collingwood? Yeah, neither does the established AFL media.

Giants still sniffing around Gresham
We need to appoint Barrels as a consulting trade negotiator on this matter and send him. The whole email chain with the giants will then be full of appropriate GIF's telling them to get stuffed.

As I said above, just like insider trading.
AFL will sign off on it...no worries at all.

Rubbish. Total garbage.

We are the youngest list in the league.
Totally agree Joffaboy.....if the young core of our list turn out to be good enough and with additions hopefully each year....the list could be contending for several years.

That's how I've viewed the clubs intentions/plans/actions since the "big plan"

Rumour has it he has trigger clauses in his contract where he receives bonuses for signing those 2.

I still think we'll be active using the moneyball approach (Bruce, Membrey, Hickey, Roberton) to pick up some players we rate at other clubs not getting opportunities.

Ultimately going to the draft with 2 x top 10 picks is what excites me. Easier to select elite talent and groom them at your own club rather than poaching from others - elite players generally stay at their original clubs as we've seen this year.

I know everyone seems to hate the idea of Hall but he's probably going to cost next years second round pick and would make a massive difference to our game. He's much quicker than Gaff and watching Richmond tear everyone apart in finals I think speed is going to be a big factor next year. Koby Stevens last year actually made a big impact seeing as Stuv and Armo both had limited season. We would have been screwed without him. Hall should have a similar impact and probably more as we have no one else like him.

Rockliff will only get Brisbane an end of 1st round compo pick, there's no way they'll be getting pick 2.

Lever is Demons or draft.
Until Collingwood throws G6 money at him...

Then it’s all “It was just too hard to pass up a chance to be a part of such a historic and huge club, with such a strong list” and yadda yadda yadda...

Billings and Carlisle are A graders.
I will fight anyone who disagrees.

That's silly neither are A grade. Billings getting close, Carlisle probably a B+. Ross and Roberton are closer. Roberton is probably in the top 10 by position so could actually be our only A grade talent. I would think you would have top be top 10 by position to be A grade, top 5 to be elite.
