Talk is brisbane taking lobbe so let can offer enough for band 1
Not happening.

Port are letting lobbe go regardless of what happens with anything else- but it wont be to bris as a FA.

Free agency compo is dished out based on what the club loses IN TOTAL during the free agency period.

Brisbane will most certainly NOT be taking any free agents this year because it will dillute and perhaps even cancel out whatever compo rocky is assessed as.

Ie if rocky is assessed as end of first round; and they bring lobbe in who is assessed as end of 3rd round....

That means they only actually GET end of 2nd or so for rocky.

We need to appoint Barrels as a consulting trade negotiator on this matter and send him. The whole email chain with the giants will then be full of appropriate GIF's telling them to get stuffed.

This is why it's going to be hard to attract any sought after player:
As I keep saying Richmond couldn't get players to come for years and were forced to draft instead. Sometimes the sliding doors work out well. North are at the bottom of the rebuild and want to attract players but just don't get the progression that needs to occur. We probably would have been more attractive if we had played a finals game or taken an obvious step forward last season.

Would love to see the stats for this. I reckon most of our misses come from a 45-60 degree angle from goal. It isn't the ones on the boundary that have infuriated us all season. It is the ones we expect to be kicked.
There was an article or whatever late in the year that said CD actually rated the spots we had our shots for goal from as the 2nd easiest in the comp, so we were actually good at getting the ball to good spots, but sucked balls at the conversion.

I'll bet the champion data guys had a good giggle plotting bruces's goalsquare map.

Also, they probably needed a supercomputer to plot josh jenkins goalsquare map too

Glad I wasn't imagining things! I know ball movement has been an issue. But to my amateur eye we took no more harder shots than a lot of clubs.

Is lobbe FA? I thought they'd trade for him. Brisbane trade a third or second and take all his contract then port pay enough for band 1 for rockliff. Martin is leaving Brisbane need a ruckman it makes sense.

That's silly neither are A grade. Billings getting close, Carlisle probably a B+. Ross and Roberton are closer. Roberton is probably in the top 10 by position so could actually be our only A grade talent. I would think you would have top be top 10 by position to be A grade, top 5 to be elite.
Name me 5 half forwards who are better players than Billings? Toby Greene is one. Robbie Gray, be he also plays as a midfielder for large amounts of time. Billings is rated elite for every category as a forward, except goals due to his conversation but has an elite amount of shots. If that doesnt make him elite and an A grader, no one will ever be in that position.

With regards to Carlisle, Rance and Hurley are the 2 in the AFL who would be considered better in that position. He should have been in the squad od 40 this year, but the stigma around him is what people judge him on instead of his actual on-field performance. Once people looked beyond that, they can actually see that he is an A grader backman, even David "why get Carlisle and Gresh for pick 5 when you could have used pick 5 on only Gresh" King acknowledged that.

Yep, the same Ned Guy who manages both Lever and Smith, both of whom Collingwood is interested in, is about to be named their list manager.

No issues there at all. Nup. None.

On what planet is this acceptable?
Maybe we should appoint Paul Connors as our Head of Recruiting

Better to be done before the deal(s) are done rather than after. Cards are on the table. Not ideal, but more acceptable than keeping it hidden for now

Would he slot into our 22?
Forget the arrogance.
Ability wise is he better than a Lonie for instance?
I don't get why anyone would question trading for smith, this guy is one of the missing pieces.

Ameet should offer enough so he can't say no, the trade will be easy imho.

Smith has pace, skill, pressure, kicks goals, can play midfield, is the right age and is a campaigner.

What's not to like.
