My sources tell me Gaff will be a Saint.

Take my bank or something
Marchbank it.

But on another note - I'm getting pretty tired of the 'don't even talk about' or 'let's stop discussing X', 'he' shit why would anyone want to talk about him', 'he takes pingaz everyday what a mad kent but i dont like his attitude'.

It's literally the entire point of this thread(s).

No need to try and prevent discussion even if it's about an unlikely occurrence.

This isn't aimed at you in particular Joff, only quoted you cos of the Marchbank line which I found pretty hilarious.

Carlisle is our star in the backline along with Robertson, Newnes , Webster , White , Geary but suggest scoring a backman like a Alir Alir , Corr or some one who can play Browns role but is quick enough to be able to play on a Buddy or Daniher.
I hope Goddard comes good because he is tall and quick however if we can score a guy cheap in the draft would be good.
But as you say score our outside mids first.
Robertson what can I say about this guy , but he is vastly improved , averaged 23 touches and made All Australian squad.

Ranked 4th in Total Kicks
Ranked 4th in Total Rebound 50s
Ranked 20th in Total Bounces
Ranked 9th in Total Metres Gained
Ranked 15th in Total Turnovers
Ranked 16th in Total Intercepts
Ranked 4th in Kicks Per Game
Ranked 4th in Rebound 50s Per Game
Ranked 11th in Metres Gained Per Game
Ranked 18th in Turnovers Per Game

Webster
played more games than any year (18) before and Averaged 19 touches game and seems to be improving all the time

Carlisle
came back after a year off and showed how much we needed this guy, he is a ripper.
Ranked 19th in Total Contested Marks
Ranked 8th in Total Intercepts
Ranked 9th in Intercepts Per Game

Membery
would be our best mark and kick in the team and only 23yr. Kicked 38 goals this year not as many as last year , but expect him keep improving , he averaged more touches this year than last year.

Stevens
we got this guy after he had stints at the Eagles and the Dogs and after recovering from food poisoning early in the year came into the side and averaged 22 touches a game.
Very under rated player

Dunstan Found his feet after he was dropped to the seconds, came back in round 18 and picked up heaps of the ball - 29-27-25-24-32 against the Roos and 30 against the Tigers. So if he continues this we should be in for a great year.

Ross This guy had a great year and should be winning the fairest and best , averaged 30 touches a game over 22 games.Just seems to be improving all the time.

Longer
Now this guy was in a battle with Hickey for the lead roll in the ruck and he nailed it, he is only 24 and usually with big ruckmen the usually don't fully develop into there late 20s, so by the looks he might become one hell of a player for us, he averaged 38 hit outs a game , however only 9.4 touches a game - but improving all the time.

Acres
this fella is finally finding his feet and if he keeps improving which he has we should see him as one of our best players - he had 30 touches twice and averaged over 20 for the 18 games he played this year.

White I'm excited about this guy , only played 3 games however he showed he will make it in the firsts with easy and next year will be his chance now that Montagna is gone.

You add to this list guys like Jack Steven , Bruce , Savage , Weller , Armitage , Macartin, Freeman , Goddard , Rice , McKenzie who never had great years , we will be in for a great year if they hit the park or improve , I don't care what anyone else thinks because we have a very young side and this year without our older guys performing (except for Brown and Geary) the kids started to stand up , so expect big things next year.

Looking forward too the draft as well.

Just feel a lot of negatives from a few people and a lot of commentators who have got it all wrong,
our team is getting stronger and better every year.

Just look over the fence to teams like Hawks, Blues, Eagles, Magpies, Roos, Lions, Suns. Dockers, Port or even the Cats if you take out Danger and Selwood and go through there lists ours is starting to look way better and way younger.

Go Saints
Geary Brown Webster
White Carlisle Robertson
Sinclair Rockcliff Gaff
Steele Macartin Billings
Membery Bruce Gresham

Longer
Ross
Steven

Dunstan - Stevens - Newnes - Acres
Naughton

Gaff back to Victoria - Hawks and Saints in it
Call me fussy but I can't help cringing every time you misspell Dylan's surname.

Sorry man. I'll try harder next time.

Whilst Gaff is not as sexy as a Whitfield or Kelly he does fill a substantial need for us..

I'm in if we get a fair deal and happy to take it to the draft if we don't.

The big one I'm keen on is Dev Smith, he's clean, beautiful user and would be a good addition to our midfield. Has a super healthy dose of campaigner about him as well. Could flourish into a 25 and 1 per game in the middle with more opportunity

That will be the same response wce will give for the exact same reason.

He's their 2nd best mid next to shuey.

It makes literally no sense for them to trade him when they've just invested millions in resigning shuey plus the existing contracts.
I'd say if they were keen to rebuild he would be one with Darling that would actually get them something decent.. A curveball could be if how he's viewed internally also in regards to leadership.. At the end of the day we could just coax him into wanting to leave though but it's a longshot

I hate other teams!
Take it to the bank. Gaff will be at wce next season.

There is literally no point talking about him. It'd be more fruitful to talk about getting Whitfield and Kelly when they come out of contract.

Gaff ain't going no where.
I've heard different. West Coast are considering trading because they feel he'll leave next year as a free agent & his offered contract won't gain them more than band 2 or 3 compo which is end of 1st round or 2nd round.

Pick 7 or 8... they'll jump all over it

Pick 8 for Gaff & pick 30

Personally, I don't want Gaff at all but he'd definitely make us a better team

Clubs arent pulling the pin on a rebuild that early when they've just played finals

It would be like us in 2011 deciding we were done with Goddard. That realisation didn't kick in until we exited finals.

And I think the landscape has changed even more significantly since then. Clubs are more bullish about not bottoming out and bouncing back quicker. Hence why Port and Richmond didn't gut their list last year and why Norf is talking the talk about bouncing back.

I think they've realised how hard it is to find the elite players and that they're worth more than the picks you get.

You may be right and there's about 40% of me who hopes you are so we can take 7+8 to the draft or trade up with GC and get a real gun.

What if Gaff wants to come home?

Goddard was our second best player and we let him go FA and only got a late first rounder.

WCE need inside mids and may be looking for the start of a rebuild
