I’ve figure this mullarky out.

If Naish doesn’t get bid on until after pick 17 we need a maximum of 788 (pick 18).

We have leeway to hold two extra picks if we decide to go to a 38 man roster.

The minimum pick we need to match is 46 (4 points short).

Therefore, we need to:

- Make trade out one player for pick 46 or better
- delist at least one more player
- Use picks 15 and 17 on KPPs if the decent ones are available
- Match any Naish bid using our 3 late picks
- if Naish bid is later in the draft we may retain a pick in the 50s, we need to decide if we should draft a player with this pick (I.e. Graham type) or whether we go with 2 extra rookies
- We then need to decide whether we rookie list the players we delisted.

Realistic Scenario

Miles to GC for 39
Delist Drummond
Use 15 and 17 on KPPs
Naish bid at 22, 648 points owed; 39 and 52 cover points, 52 moves to 69/70
Use 55 on best available
Pass on 69/70
Re-rookie Drummond
One other rookie pick

39/5 list distribution

Last day of trade and not one of our players is mentioned in trades? Miles Loyd> Have we made a move for anyone as another tall is a must and teams will have us worked out next year and we might go down the path of the dogs. All this talk about trengove Schach and so on,
seen them move to other clubs have we fallen asleep or do we think we have something better coming in the draft.

For the first time ever i am happy we aren't pissing away picks on duds like Fatslop, Lobbe etc. However, i was dead against us getting Stringer, now, there's a bit of an itch I can't scratch with him.

If he could solve those personal issues it would be so tempting.

Both Miles and Lloyd are keen to stay (reported on SEN), although wouldn't be surprised if a last minute deal is done for Milesy.
It's a happy place to be down at Tigerland at the moment.

2 minutes till trade deadline, balmey throws 17 at Brisbane for Shache and 15 at bulldogs for stringer. Could be a HUGE day or absolutely nothing happens at all and we head to the draft. Let's trade!!!
2 minutes till trade deadline Balmey throws a can of Richmond Bitter at Dan Richardson and says “see how you get an extra two weeks off if you win the premiership...”

As it stands we have 3 senior spots, one rookie spot and 3 Cat B rookie spots.
37 senior players / 3 rookies (Moore, Chol, Stengle)
Won't rookie Drummond and shouldn't delist him as he has been unlucky with injuries.

Is the itch just to mess with the bombers?
That's why I sort of want us to pounce...
