Miles picked up another 34 in the VFL finals today.
Thats his level though mate.

Froggy averaged similar numbers during his stint there last year. As did Benny J. I'd rather we give Frog and Clarke the games than him. Miles is AFL level depth, and no more than that. 26 at the start of next season.

Why? Hall next year will be 28 and will cost us a 2nd rounder.
you sure he will be 28 next year?

isn't he 33 now?

but seriously why would we trade in any one over 24? I can understand getting a FA or two but trading for 28 year old.

Hall is 26, same age as Ziebell. I reckon we'd be stupid not to look at him, is the same age as our core and has pace, skill and accumulating ability well beyond most of our list. Making Swallow part of the trade would also lower the pick value we need to give up, likely to something in the 30s. He would add massively to our side imo

At this point in our list evolution I see little point in trading for a guy like Hall. He strikes me as a one way runner who would be a nice cherry on top for a team in the window.

If he was a FA then sure but to sacrifice a decent pick for him is a mistake imo.

I get your point, however he just has so much of what we lack that I still would look very closely at him. He's young enough to be part of our next flag push, and with Swallow likely heading up to play with his brother, his value in terms of picks might be less than people think. Gold Coast are looking for players not draft picks, so something like Swallow, Mullett and pick 43 for Hall and a pick in the 60s might get it done if he nominates us.

When is our next flag push?

Hall will be well gone.

I agree, tiltraise, that the cost is/might be the issue in acquiring him. But if he effectively replaced Swallow and some sort of lower pick or pick swap, worth considering.

remfan101, he averages 19.3 disposals per game over his career, but more like 26 over the past two years, suggesting a 'breakout' or different role. Mainly uncontested, high metres gained, ranked highly in I50s but also turnovers (in 2016).

In the Atley (or Boomer) mould I guess, but averages one more tackle per game than them. Would he take games away from the likes of Josh Williams?

The defensive side of his game is his weakness, otherwise he'd be pretty much ungettable as there are few better offensively imo. However I think an attacking wingman is something we really lack, and replacing Gibbo with Hall changes the balance of our side for the better imo. He isn't an Atley type at all, in the last 2 years he has regularly racked up high 30s in disposals, and he is instinctively aggressive in a way Ats isn't. As for our premiership window, I'm bullish about us being back in contention by 2020, at which point he'll be 29 and still playing good footy.
