Free Agents I like right now
Tom Rockliff (Would be a great addition to the midfield group)
Jake Spencer (Would be a great number 2 if Goldy is traded)
Devon Smith (Got some concerns about his health)

Guys via trade of interest
Harley Balic - Low Risk
Aaron Hall - The guy could be a All Australian in the right environment.

With Kelly signing with GWS we should remove our first and second round picks from the table.

In terms of where we are now unless they're free or cheap and speculative (Williams or Ahern) they're not worth it.
Agree but I'd love to see 21 upgraded to a pick in the mid teens so we could have a go at O'Brien, Clark or Garner.

No issue with doing that.

Point is more that we shouldn't be pursuing a whole lot of anything big fish wise.

We have the currency to do something but we shouldn't just be spending it on anything.

Given the outcome of Dusty and Kelly, we should just go to the draft. The only provision to that is for a top 5 player to just land in our lap. However as we've chased a few and ended up with none I doubt it'll just happen like that.

Rockliff still suits us well IMO. Given the double deal is out anyway I'd be inclined to get him, front load even further on Brown and any other guys due in the next year or so and see which player managers come calling after Grand Final week. Make no mistake - there will be guys out there that are interested in the fistfulls of cash we're waving around.

I'm sure there will be. Unless they are A grade I wouldn't even bother returning the call.

so remind me again why we beat the lions?
Because we would have literally had to sneak out at half time to lose?

We played missing close to half of our best 22 and several of those in the team under significant duress. I'm not sure a plausible way to lose that game even exists.

And if we were going to win, might as well win the way we did rather than some Pyrrhic last quarter heroics or some shit. Even with the injuries we were obviously a better team than half a dozen others. The way things have gone, DGAF the difference between pick 1 and 4.

I'm less annoyed now than when Kelly was on the table. I liked the idea that pick 1 was both fair value (for Traitor Boy) and unlikely to need anything else from us that we weren't already willing to give up, whereas pick 4 might see us lose other things - 2 steps forward 3 back kind of things. Now that it's just the draft I can live with a few places here or there. Different to when GWS / GC were picking the eyes out of the draft and finishing 4th last would net you a pick in the teens...

There's no consensus number one either. Seems like there is a group of 4-5 guys who could all go first.

Add a pick 4 midfielder and a fit Ahern into the mix for next year and its going to be great to see.

Did you watch the game?

We could have played with the Werribee line up and won that game.

We won by 10 goals and were in neutral for half the game.
yes we were shit at the start then decided to put the foot down after half time and of course lions just gave up.
