*they and the *players really are a very devious lot. *they will always cheat. And the *players of course are in to the cheating like ferrets down a rabbit burrow.

*essendon should have been de-registered and removed from the AFL. *they are a disgrace.
So basically they had another 12 players on their list & paid $3 Mil outside the salary cap to keep them.

According to SEN Just now ‘North didn’t move quick enough on Saad’ given that he wants to move back to the northern suburbs due to family reasons.
In all likelihood we didn't move at all because we weren't interested.

To the media we are either too desperate or not desperate enough.

Im pretty sure the Saad family are from the outer north.. Roxburgh Park/Craigieburn area.. not exactly a stones throw from Arden Street. But very close to Sunbury East (Tullamarine).

Does anyone know what we are doing this free agency/trade week? Nothing as usual no doubt.
As usual?

For better or worse, the last few seasons have seen us very active in the trade/FA period. I, for one, am happy if we're quiet this year and just go to the draft. Maybe try to acquire another pick inside 30 somehow, or try something similar to the Williams, Hrovat or Ahern deals from last year, but that would be it.

Obviously Saad has been in close contact with JK and Saintbill and they've told him the journey from Roxburgh Park/Craigieburn to Arden Street is far too arduous and must not be entertained under any circumstances.

I'm beginning to wonder if we need to consider doing a "Catalonia" and break away from the rest of Melbourne, because it is clearly far to hard to travel into the general vicinity of Arden Street

Probably not much. Not really an "aggressive reset" but I'm OK with it. The free agents don't excite me much, the guys being floated as tradeable either would come at too high a price or just straight out not needed by us. Unless we can shake a contracted player from his club, our inactivity is alright...this time.

Trade week doesn't start until 9am on Monday the 9th October - that's next week. Today is free agent lodgement day. Clubs then have until the 19th of October to interview other clubs/players and get deals done. Think you just need to take a chill pill.

Some McCartney snippets

  • We’re rapt to be able to secure Jackson Trengove. Port within their rights to look at it. Don't think they will.
  • Brings experience, competitiveness and ability to play in three areas of the ground
  • One of a few things we hope to execute.
  • We have lost some experience so he brings some back.
  • We like Jarman. We have tracked him, but he’s under contract and other clubs are interested too.
  • Hayden Crozier, we like him. He has some attributes that would fit our group.

I like the bit about devalue him and now they are trying to boost it up again.

I can't believe how stupid they have shown themselves to be in how they have gone about trying to move him on. If ever there was a message saying "buyer beware" it was the one from the bulldogs. What were they thinking? Were they even thinking?

My thoughts exactly. He nominated Essendon, now they have to deal with them. After being kicked out, no way he is going back. So, so stupid.

It was all I was thinking during that period. It was as if they didn't care outing him as poison.

Between that, the rumours of his habits and his ex-GF outing him on his punting and infidelity, no way known they get an early 1st Round or a 1st Round at all

Imagine how Hawthorn would have framed a Stringer trade. Would have lubed us with two first rounders saying hes an integral part of their future plans and reluctantly let him go for a multi-million-dollar contract. Whilst keeping personal issues quiet
