Love this time of year usually, but thinking it might be bloody quiet.

Looking forward to seeing what Browny does with his $1.5m cheque next year.

AFL Trade paperwork update:
PAdel not match WBulldogs' Free Agent offer to JTrengove.
PA to receive rd 2 compo pick, currently #30.
Compensation based contract offer & player age, relative to other AFL players.
Also dependent on whether PAdel now takes in any Free Agents.

#30 is overs IMO.

This system.....
We got about the same for Wells last year who will play a lot less football for the Pies than Trengove will for the Dogs. A pick in the 30s isn't really worth much. A lot of tall defenders will be taken in that range that'll never play as many games as Jackson.

It's not really though. Pick 30 is worth a lot less to a club than a player that has acquitted themselves well at AFL level, especially when you're challenging. Dan Nielson is starting to come on but 25 for Levi (who is arguably not as good as Trengove) was a net negative for us. 2nd and 3rd round picks are pretty speculative.
The only issue with the FA system as I see it is atrocities like pick 3 for Jimmy Frawley.

Adam Saad is heading back to Victoria

His manager, John Meesen is talking to NAB AFL Trade Radio.

Gold Coast aware he wants to come back to Melbourne, but respectful that he is contracted. Not as easy as pointing and shooting.

Essendon definitely interested, but Gold Coast driving the talks because he’s contracted. Making Essendon aware that a deal needs to be done that will satisfy the Suns.

Gold Coast aware he had a strong family link back to Melbourne. Big family back there. Gold Coast very accommodating of the needs of a practicing Muslim.

Loves the club, but is living by himself. Ramadan is hard. Can’t eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. Has to wait till the night before he can lift some weights.

Faith and family come before footy.

Gold Coast think he is worth a first-round pick, other clubs probably think that's a bit over. Early second-round pick or a like for like player would be closer to the mark.

Really confident and optimistic that a deal will get done.

Don't see why his issues are specified as culturally specific. Lots of players leave large families and have to make their way alone interstate irrespective of beliefs.
