With hopefully a clean out coming at the end of the year for us i would be hoping to unload a few players, intrested at what others rate there value at
Trent Mckenize
Matt Shaw
Brandon Matera
Tom Nicholls
Matera would be the cream of that crop.. but the inconsistency is killer....

I always thought McKenzie would pan out too so what do I know...

I would say however if you want more than a Mitchell type pick for GAJ, then maybe add one or two of them and get that Rd2 you (GCS) have been mooted as talking about.

Yes Lever is promising but so is daniel
Agreed... but KPD harder to acquire than small mids...

Both of value.. no doubt... Id have Lever over Daniel by choice, talent and value if I had to choose.

Wouldn't say he has turned out bad? Won them one more premiership than the cats lately.

What would Matt Kennedy and Jacob Hopper be worth?

Your first would be the minimum starting point, albeit GWS would want more than a mid-late first.

Haha yeah dont think the hawks would be chasing him. Did u blokes give pick 20 for stanley? Going by that u might trade danger for goldstein

With the Crows starting with (based on today) - 17, 35, 53, 71, 89, 107, 125

AND Sadly I think McGovern is gone.. BUT we should get strong pick exchange for him,...

M.Mcgovern + Crows pick 35 / FOR / West Coast Picks 12 + 30

Harry Dear + Crows pick 71 / FOR / Richmond Pick 54

Crows picks 53, 54, 71, 89 (combined 482 points) / FOR / Geelong Pick 34 (542 points)

Crows go into the draft with picks 12, 17, 30, 34, 107*, 125*

*Use these picks to upgrade Hugh Greenwood & Jono Beech.

Commit to drafting Jackson Edwards as Father Son,. Bid comes between 20-30, pick values adjusted.

Wait so not only do you somehow get pick 12 for McGovern, we also hand over a second round upgrade?

Damn straight.. bloke is a gun. With Freo coming in with interest now I'd expect WCE to reach a little for him,. but in the long term, trust me you would be happy with the deal.. He is quality.

I don't think it'll be an upgrade. I think we'll be pushing for the upgrade - although to be fair we are proven weak traders and so we may settle for the pick 12 straight swap.

While I don't doubt McGovern is a pretty good player, a record of 35 goals in 26 games doesn't scream 'top 12 + change". I don't love the idea of trading a first rounder for a non-KPP forward particularly when we have gaping holes in other areas of our list. Ideally we can find another avenue to get this deal done, although I accept this is probably unlikely.

fair and reasonable comment,. I'll admit I first did the scenario based on the incorrect picks (the WCE having around pick 15-16) and the 2nd round upgrade only being a pick or two in it.. We shall see.. In all honesty I just hope he re-signs with us,. but sadly I'm getting less confident daily..
The situation will get more and more interesting if either WCE or ADE starts to slide in terms of ladder position,. both have looked half likely for a slide lately.. Time will tell,. Cheers mate :)

I see what you're saying. You're right, ladder position will play a big role in this. I personally think we'll finish around 8th and you guys will finish top three at a minimum which doesn't make the deal any easier. In my opinion, pick 16 or so for McGovern would be about right. Hopefully we end up with a pick that late ;)

huh? do we just post random trades here without at least a comment on motivations on why teams make trades.

Well I didn't think the theory was that abstract but ok,.
Geelong give up 1 late 2nd round pick,. and in exchange they receive a whole bunch of picks in exchange,. including back to back picks at 53/54. Seeing as the cats have traded away alot of their picks in the past 2-3 seasons, I would think they'd love to go into the draft with more live picks,. espescially seeing as their recruitment team seem to be have their fingers well and truly on the pulse when it comes to finding mid/late draft talent. But hey.. it's just my opinion..

In a shallow draft why would you trade a late second round pick. Doesn't make sense.

The only team that would do that trade is GWS really

Highly doubt we will give away a top 12 pick and a 2nd round downgrade based on the relative failure of the last times we have done so, especially given that we have the higher bargaining position since Gov Jr is out of contract this year. I doubt fremantle will trade you their first either since it is likely to be a top 10, and they don't have a 2nd this year from memory so the crows don't have much leverage there.
