Well I didn't think the theory was that abstract but ok,.
Geelong give up 1 late 2nd round pick,. and in exchange they receive a whole bunch of picks in exchange,. including back to back picks at 53/54. Seeing as the cats have traded away alot of their picks in the past 2-3 seasons, I would think they'd love to go into the draft with more live picks,. espescially seeing as their recruitment team seem to be have their fingers well and truly on the pulse when it comes to finding mid/late draft talent. But hey.. it's just my opinion..
Not only are the points low, Geelong have have picked plenty of late pick talent in recent years. Its not as if when you early trade picks out you dont have picks at all , the picks you have are at the tail end of the draft. For Eg. 2016 Narkle 60, House 68 , Abbott 69 ..2015 Gardner 59,Menegola 66 , Buzza 69 , Hayball 70... Hayball was the last pick in the draft.
Its highly unlikely that they Geelong would even use 71 and 89. To make a swap happen for what you proposing ..34 would have to be swapped for something like a 43 and 44 542 <> 740. Or why do it? Make no sense to downgrade for less points.
