2017 trade hypothetical thread

As I explained, my logic is based on the McCarthy trade.

People tend to forget that McCarthy was considered untradeable shit hot property after he bagged 35 goals in 20 matches (games 2 to 21) in 2015.

Ok forget trying to justify your trade logic because of a freo gws trade that was very unusual circumstances and in no way similiar to a possible trade for Kelly in any way. Obviously looking for any excuse to convince yourself here.

It's called data mate. Contemporary data. A recent trade for a gun young player who has shown plenty.

Your rebuttal isn't based on anything.

Josh Kelly (@9 x $1,000,000) & pick 28 to North/picks 4 & 22 to GWS
Tom Rockliff (@4 x $750,000) to North /Brisbane get AFL compensation pick 20?
Andrew Swallow & pick 28 to GC/pick 26 to North
I believe 4 years at $750k per would net a band 1 compo, which is behind our first round pick right? So giving us pick 1 and pick 2 or pick 2 and pick 3.

I honestly believe Brisbane would take that, hard loss as it would be. Then possibly draft Luke Davies-Uniacke and Lochie O'Brien.

After your 1st pick or at the end of the 1st round. I'm not sure.

Hypothetically, it won't be detrimental to North as we will be giving up our 1st round pick anyway.

Yeah, already been discussed somewhat on the Lions page.

Not sure North would be attractive to Rockliff. Rockliff is a win now player. I don't believe he leaves Brisbane unless it is to a team in the championship window now.

I see him going to the crows if he were ever to leave.

I think the most interesting trade will come from Collingwood. Need KPP's desperately. The draft is meant to be strong with them but I expect Collingwood to finish above 10th or so, so pick 8 at a minimum (easily pick 10+ after a few academy selections), so they either target a higher draft pick or target a KPP in trade week/fortnight? Thoughts on this Pies fans? Also draft experts can the Pies get a decent KPP at 10+?

I think even though the talk is about Richmond and Schache, Collingwood would go big to trump them and get him. Schache and Moore starts to look more promising, with Reid and Keeffe down back.

If we lose Watson, Stanton, Hocking and Kelly which is likely i would hope we make an offer to Rockliff unless Zaharakis is offered a truckload and gets us a decent draft pick

Zaharakis stocks are dropping each week. Has been incredibly disappointing this year.

I think we need to offload a quality mid to get currency for a decent KPF, Sidebottom would be the one i'd look at trading, I'd like to think we'd get a mid (ish) first rounder for him.

At this rate I'd just be happy to get a second round pick for him, if he did pursue FA.

Don't think he'd be worth all that much to us. Shame to say, he loves the club and can play good footy but he's just such a skier.

He needs to go to a top side where he dosent have to worry about defence and where he won't get tagged. 2nd rounder looks about right.

Largely because when he was traded he wasn't considered untradeable shit hot.

I wonder once the EBA is signed weather there will be a 20% reduction in FA compensation calculations to account for the 20% raise.

I.e if Rockliff signs on 750k it would recalculated as 600k in current terms.

If they looked at it as percentages as a group ie above 500k puts you in this percentile than they don't need to adjust anything. It's always relative.
