Actually, I am aware that it is not school holiday time. My second question was rhetorical, and was intended purely as a thinly veiled insult for your lack of football knowledge.

In case you are not aware, Aaron Francis (Pick 6, 2015) and Jayden LaVerde (pick 20, 2014) were both early draft picks for Essendon. Both players are still on their list.

So I will repeat my first question and hope for an intelligent answer: What on earth were you on about?

I think a pick in the early 20's will get you Kennedy if he nominates the club.

I know we've seen a few teams get burned by trading future picks and then not doing as well as they expected, namely Collingwood and Hawthorn.

But for Hopper i'd be willing to risk it as i personally don't see us finishing last in 2018...even if we did it's probably not even that far off his value anyway so the risk is minimal. He would have been in contention for the no.1 pick in his draft year if he wasn't an academy player i think.

The cleanout at the end of this year will be mostly players not really contributing anyway, eg Thomas, Jones, Lamb, Palmer, Armfield and more.

I'd expect our team and youngsters to keep improving and then adding Hopper would obviously strengthen our list, in addition to our first pick in 2017.
For me i'd expect to be giving up a pick around 5-8 in the end...but of course anything could happen.

Always have to look at the potential future draft class and your probable finishing position for the following year if trading a future pick. AFL Academy is always a good place to start. Hard to look past the King twins, and there is a big group South Australians, all of whom are in this years U18 S.A. squad.

Hopper certainly might be worth trading a future pick for, if you believe you'll finish outside the bottom 3. Especially if you believe you have already drafted a couple of future gun players.

Jaksch is useless, and wouldn't be worth a lot, if he can't get a gig in a Blues side in need of some KPP, he's not worth McCartin! Billings is worth more too.

Won't happen but Billings a first being ooc, Mccartin two firsts being contracted, all in all it'd take both your firsts, a second, and outside the obvious untouchables I'd probably go Cunningham

We're currently looking for a back up to Jarryn Geary. How's Aaron Francis doing in the VFL development squad? He'd have to be first in line to be cut in order to accommodate Laverde's contract?

Out of curiosity what would opposition supporters be willing to give up for Tim Broomhead in terms of either picks or a player?

He seems to be ridiculously highly rated by some on our board and just curious whether its just me that goes 'meh' or do other less one eyed supporters see something in him?

Would not want to give up our first, would ports pick on its own be enough to get it done or would we have to bring something else to the table? eg. a shuffling around of later round picks.

I would think you are zero chance , absolute zero chance of convincing hopper or Kennedy to leave gws to go to Brisbane.

Go to the draft. Take ballendon and another young promising kid and develop them properly.

Yer, unfortunately for us a lot more hypothetical than most trade proposals. I am confident we are heading in the right direction with the Fagan/Noble team though, but it will be 2-3 more years before we become a serious destination club.
