Usually it is a pretty big thread so here is the 2017 version, I'll start off with a couple for my tigers.

Our first rounder for Jacob Hopper?

Our 2 first rounders this year + next year for Rockliff and Shache?

Some of the folk over on our board have said there's word Varcoe might want to return to SA to set up his life after football. I have no idea how true it is or if it's garbage but I do know I'd like to keep him.

In line with Fly's current draft order:

SA club get: Travis Varcoe, pick 57
Collingwood get: Pick 32/36 and Pick 68/72

That is probably about fair actually, solid middle 2nd rounder is about right. Few upgrades in the late rounds. Good effort, fair trade.

This is however assuming Varcoe doesn't break down over and over this season.

I thought it might have been a little bit our way to be honest. Although, Varcoe is still only 29 and could have some good years to offer a team at the top, and both Adelaide clubs are making quite an impression. If he wanted to leave, I think it would simply come down to what they want to give us rather than us pushing to get what we want.

Nothing to do with Varcoe, but would Ed Langdon interest you if he doesn't sign in with Freo?

Mid 2nd/early 3rd is about right for a line breaking player. That said this is assuming he doesn't have a lot of soft tissue injuries this season.

I don't mind him. Gets a fair bit of ball and plays on the outside, an area we don't have lots of players in. Would be handy depth at worst. Wouldn't give too much for him though as he'd start out in the reserves. Mind you, I could see Tom being on the trade table at the end of the year from us so I'm not sure Ed would be a primary target.

The most important question is - how is his kicking?

He's kicked at 76% this year, I would like for him to improve that abit more but he is a linebreaker who relies on his speed and acceleration a lot. I would prefer to keep him opposed to trading as we would get nothing close to what we would value him at, what would Tom be worth in a trade? Do you think he would come west if Ed wanted to stay?

Rockliff would add tackle numbers and grunt to the Tigers midfield

Any interest w a late first/early second for either of Tom Hickey or Billy Longer?

If we get rid of Tippett I'd expect us to be interested, not sure on the price though. Like to look at both their injuries (if they have any) first.

How much do you think the swans would ask for Tippett?

I imagine we will be in the running for another ruck, how are these two guys forward though?

Honestly I don't know.

If we can get a club to pay a portion of the salary we'd probably let him go relatively cheap. Maybe a late 2nd or 3rd rounder at a guess...only having an absolute guess.

And I think that Miles is worth more on the open market than what Varcoe is, pretty sure of it actually.

How much is he on these days?

Smith too old for the Saints build and that price is far too high

And Smith not suited to playing on the smaller Etihad

Could be completely wrong but it is somewhere in the $680- 800k range.

If we could get a club to pay half, we'd probably be happy with taking less of a deal, even a late future pick in 2018.

Unlikely. Varcoe for all his injury issues can kick well.

I'd take a punt on Miles but it would be a gamble at anything more than a late 3rd. Wouldn't want to pay more than that. Happy enough at that price, as he's handy enough.
