If a player wants out most clubs take unders for them.

If he said he wanted to come and we offered them a first this year and next, they would be well inclined to take it.

They might, but they'd want the first one to be in the top 5 and rightly so. Would be similar value to Treloar who went for two picks under 10 with a mid second going back to the Pies.

Yeah that's probably right.

I am not that keen on him though tbh, paying a young forward big money hasn't really worked out that great in the past.

Yet he's prone to turning it over and doing silly things. Honestly would rather quite a few players on your list rather than him...then again I feel Melbourne have a lot more assets.

Once he "nominates" a club though, you don't get much of a say.

Who else would you be interested in from North (assuming Zak's value is about where he was drafted at #15)?

Wood and Turner would be two, but I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Swallow. However I'd want to see him get some form in the back of the season. Could be someone to help our weakness.

You 100% won't be getting Wood.

Turner for Jones is a good deal for North I would think.

Well it was worth a shout on Wood lol (and yes I know we are buckleys chance of that happening).

More inclined to see how swallow is going in the middle of the year. The sort of player we should target this year, we need some grunt help.

We are a big show for Sam Reid, we are a more attractive proposition than the pies at the moment.

Mathew Kennedy = early to mid second rounder

Josh Shache = two first rounders

Harry Dear = Don't want him.

Rory Lobb = a first rounder + future second.

Gunston = late first rounder

Fyfe = 2 first rounders

Reid = FA

Tom Lamb = late second rounder

Sam Durdin = Don't want.
You'd would need 2 first rounders or a top 3 pick for any chance at Lobb

We're currently looking for a back up to Jarryn Geary. How's Aaron Francis doing in the VFL development squad? He'd have to be first in line to be cut in order to accommodate Laverde's contract?
Francis was a top up player and currently isn't on a list, same with Laverde so we could just rookie them

Plausible, but not enough father-figures at St Kilda to tempt him over I'm afraid.

What are you on about???

Is it school holiday time already?

Yeah mate

Actually, I am aware that it is not school holiday time. My second question was rhetorical, and was intended purely as a thinly veiled insult for your lack of football knowledge.

In case you are not aware, Aaron Francis (Pick 6, 2015) and Jayden LaVerde (pick 20, 2014) were both early draft picks for Essendon. Both players are still on their list.

So I will repeat my first question and hope for an intelligent answer: What on earth were you on about?

Hahaha really? Like really?

Bloke you seriously have no idea.

Matthew Kennedy from GWS will cost s mid to late first rounder.

Schache. Your 2 first rounders aren't worth squat. Top 5 pick+ is what we would be looking for. Schache hasn't said anything publicly, and his agent has said they are waiting for the new CBA to finalised before discussing a new deal.

Kennedy is an interesting one, has played 7 games and hasn't done a whole lot yet, pick 13, compare that to Steele, had played 17 games by the end of his second season and probably had a similar output to Kennedy, was bid on at pick 15 but was pick 24 with the old rules, both academy boys, so what's to say Kennedy is worth more than Steele? Steele went for what'll likely be pick 28-30.

You should be able to get Swallow as a delisted FA if North are serious about 'resetting'. Bog average undersized midfielder with no speed who can't kick 0, has only one position he can play and one skill he's good at (tackling) and has been going on a downward projectory for 5 years. Yet you refuse Atley?

With probably another big clean out this year you could be looking at giving up pick 1 potentially.

I know we've seen a few teams get burned by trading future picks and then not doing as well as they expected, namely Collingwood and Hawthorn.

But for Hopper i'd be willing to risk it as i personally don't see us finishing last in 2018...even if we did it's probably not even that far off his value anyway so the risk is minimal. He would have been in contention for the no.1 pick in his draft year if he wasn't an academy player i think.

The cleanout at the end of this year will be mostly players not really contributing anyway, eg Thomas, Jones, Lamb, Palmer, Armfield and more.

I'd expect our team and youngsters to keep improving and then adding Hopper would obviously strengthen our list, in addition to our first pick in 2017.
For me i'd expect to be giving up a pick around 5-8 in the end...but of course anything could happen.
