There probably is nothing there that they would do.

they would no doubt ask for someone like Cripps, Murphy, Marchbank, McKay, SPS who you wouldn't get rid of, and rightly so.

Well 21 and 26 is probably paying overs for GC.

But together they are worth around the 10 - 15 pick margin.

Gibbs will be 29 next year, and Kruezer will be 28 and one of the most injury prone players in the game.

You won't be getting overly much for either of them.

As other have mentioned, if Schache does decide to leave the Lions are in a position of strength to negotiate hardball.

I wasn't commentating on the likelihood of him leaving as I was answering your post which was obviously on the scenario where he had asked for a trade.

Hardball or not , asking for something impossible for 99% of teams to obtain won't work.

I like Broomhead. Has some talent but as pointed out earlier his deficiencies are keeping him from a spot in the 22. I think port could do with another players who has good speed and a decent kick to play wing-half forward. If he could put it together, he would be an upgrade on amon. But wouldnt give more than a third rounder. Not after being burned by Toumpas

Fair bit of 'grass is greener on the other side' going on here to think broomhead is an upgrade on Amon. It's probabaly more the reverse.

Ballenden was played out of position a bit, in defence which he's not suited to, in a couple of the games that he played. Dan Merrett was on our fan podcast this week, and he has a bit to do with our academy, and he mentioned about playing kids out of their normal positions to "hide" them from opposition scouts. This was mainly in reference to a highly rated KPD (Jack Payne) in our academy.

If he has anything to do with your academy and admitted playing kids out of their natural positions in their draft years to 'hide' them from scouts then I would say that is an obvious admittance of draft tampering and would want action taken on it.

Obviously they cannot actually 'hide' these kids but what they are referencing is more hiding their talent as scouts cannot judge them as well.

Whether there is truth in this or not it does highlight an obvious flaw in the system that can be abused.

For what it's worth, Cal Twomey mentioned him as one to watch before the level 2 championships started, and little bit of hype has started on the Brisbane board about the kid, so I'd say it's safe to say club recruiters will be familiar with him, and he should make the allies team for the div 1 championships.

I thought Gibbs was a contracted player and a key component of the Carlton side ?? Now you want to ship him off to the Gold Coast, even further away from his family ?? No doubt that would give every other player on your list confidence in the club.

Isn't best 22 so probably very little, maybe a younger side with a lack of experience in the back half would offer up a 3rd rounder, but more likely to be a steak knives in any deal if he were to be traded

Isn't Kreuzer a free agent? If you want higher picks you get one first from Adelaide for Gibbs and let GC make a high $ offer to Kreuzer which may get you and end of first round/pick after your second round draft pick. Preuss IMO is worth a pick between 20-30.

yes he is - but he is has been injury free for two years now and starting to play good football...he will play to 32 and in good form like mummy i am sure..mummy has had big injuries as well
