Depends if Gazza goes. He's a solid inside mid but nothing really special about him. He'd be behind Swallow and Lyons but might be good for depth and experienceCould we use him?

Your boys will come good. You've got some real top end talent and plenty of young stars rising. Hopefully you can keep them and play finals next year.No worries lol.. that's been our downfall though, lack of decent inside mids
We fall down in that 25 - 28 bracket.. need a little bit of experienceYour boys will come good. You've got some real top end talent and plenty of young stars rising. Hopefully you can keep them and play finals next year.
I honestly think the AFL have made GWS what they are today and hung you out to dry
Suban -> 27yo inside mid. Yours for free too (UFA). Just remember to give him at least 400k per year over 4.We fall down in that 25 - 28 bracket.. need a little bit of experience
Greenwood can come your way thenNo worries lol.. that's been our downfall though, lack of decent inside mids

Wouldn't Collingwood just pick up Reid as a FA?Let's presume Reid (we match bid) and Jones join their brothers down south.
Swans would aim for
Reid and pick 28 for pick 4 from Collingwood - equivalent of pick 11
Jones for pick 14 from Melbourne
Both favour Sydney but how far off the mark do you think they are?

I'll be very disappointed if we get Band 3 compo for Reid.I suspect that will be an end of second round pick (28 - 32 ish).
Reid is a FA, so there is NO WAY Collingwood will remotely consider trading for him let alone surrendering pick 4. It will be FA compensation to Sydney full stop. I suspect that will be an end of second round pick (28 - 32 ish).
Jones would be worth around 12-18 give or take a minor switch of later/ late future pick or two. I suspect Jones will recommit and stay in Sydney.
Jones for pick 14 from Melbourne

I wouldn't have thought that favoured Sydney. I'd happily pay a top 10 pick for him on this years form.
Jones right but no way does anyone give up pick 4 for Ben Reid, getting 28 back might make it the equivalent of 11 on points but they have no meaning to Collingwood at all, 28 in this draft is useless.

Swan will match if all they get is 28-32ish pick

If you match you can keep him. He's not worth anywhere near a first rounder.Very few options for Collingwood if we match then.... that's their only currency. They'd have to make it a huge offer to guarantee we get 1st round compo
OK. But the question was really aimed at what is his value to Collingwood if we match?
Totally agree. For the band to be that low I'd guess the offer is well within our wage structure
See above. The question was really aimed at what is his value to Collingwood if we match? What else do they have that is of value to Sydney? Their next pick is in the 3rd round.
I don't think you will match. We don't have a second round pick so you may as well not match and get a compo pick somewhere in the second round I would imagine. No way you are getting pick 4. That's just not going to happen.Very few options for Collingwood if we match then.... that's their only currency. They'd have to make it a huge offer to guarantee we get 1st round compo
