I would have thought you would still be in the honeymoon period ZoBlitz and smiling not crying. Make the most of it while it lasts.;)
Bigfooty has no honeymoon period.

How old is ZARA and does anyone have a high opinion of him....never been a great fan but he is getting good numbers lately.

I was thinking of ways we could trade picks 14 and 18 for another top 10 pick and still manufacture a trade for Charlie Cameron and I thought of this 3 team deal-

Brisbane Lions
Gain- Pick 6 Charlie Cameron
Lose- Pick 14 Pick 18 Michael Close

Collingwood Magpies
Gain- Jake Lever Michael Close
Lose- Pick 6 Matthew Scharenberg James Aish

Adelaide Crows
Gain- Pick 14 Pick 18 Matthew Scharenberg James Aish
Lose- Jake Lever Charlie Cameron

I'm not sure if the Crows fans would like that deal...(In fact I'm positive they would hate it:D)

We make out like bandits in that one. Collingwood get shafted. Make it happen ;)

How about this version? (assuming you get end of first round compo for Rockliff)

Brisbane Lions
Gain- Pick 6, 36, Charlie Cameron
Lose- Pick 14, 18, 19

Collingwood Magpies
Gain- Mitch McGovern, 18, 19
Lose- Pick 6, 36, 2018 2nd

Adelaide Crows
Gain- Pick 14, 'Pies 2018 2nd
Lose- Mitch McGovern, Charlie Cameron

---
or we could just cut the Crows out of it -
6, 36, 'Pies 2018 2nd for 14, 18, 19

I think we'd be happy enough to downgrade Pick 6 if we could also upgrade some later picks. Think we'd be a chance to get you a pick in the mid-20s this year instead of the future pick too, if you'd prefer that - where do you expect a bid on Ballenden?

If you re appoint Nathan Buckley it might be a place to start the negotiations. BTW I don't think Rocky is leaving unless he gets an offer too good to refuse eg. $750,000 x 4 years as opposed to a possible Lions offer of $650,000 x 3 years.

My dream scenario is that we get 2 young gun mids in before Ballenden is bid on, I have a sinking feeling that someone may bid on him before our Port pick (currently 14) although others disagree, hence the need to get up the draft IMO.

One thing worth remembering is we may need some late picks for rookie upgrades (thinking Hammer and possibly Barrett if club decides to, who knows.)

Then we may need another later pick for Payne (no idea if he will be ND or RD).

That would essentially rule out our last 3 picks.

Certainly we would want to maximise our picks prior to any bid for Ballenden, but at this stage it looks like the best we can hope for with our current picks is being forced to use pick 18 on him. Frankly I can't see him sliding any further.

That is certainly why the concept of turning the Port pick and our 2nd pick into an earlier and later pick (say one top 10 and one in the 20's) should definitely be looked at and no doubt will be by the club.

Only trouble with that is that the 20's pick can only then cover either Cameron or Ballenden - we would need to manufacture another pick from somewhere to get both or at least accumulate sufficient points for Ballenden to be used with our 3rd round pick.

I could envisage us trading pick 1 for pick 4 as part of a Kelly trade whereby we get 4 and, say, Kennedy (or better Hopper) and lose picks 1 (and say 41), North get Kelly and pick 41 and GWS get picks 1 and 21, 44 &/or a player.
