196cm is the new 193cm. Kids born in the 90s have much more chance of reaching their genetically possible height due to massive advances in medical technology and knowledge of nutrition since then.

Guys like Pavlich, Brown etc were born in the 70's when mothers still smoked during pregnancy and kids still got things like chicken pox at a young age. I'm about the same age as those guys and I am 194cm and played all my (rubbish) career as ruckman. 193cm was very tall for that era. It's not any more.
Generalisation much? By the way, kids should get chicken pox - that's why it's a childhood illness - and it doesn't stunt growth.

Sticky hands McGovern gets a good run at it and solid mark. Shanks the kick from 30m out.
Decent quarter. 1 handball and 1 kick.
Spilled a soda chest mark early in the term but made up for it with the highlight grab.
8 touches for 2 behinds.

Kids don't get chicken pox any more. There is a vaccination for it. Thanks for chiming in though Dr Karl.

Polio used to be a childhood illness too and now it isn't. Thanks science.

Any kind of illness in childhood can stunt growth. The eradication of said illnesses is the primary factor behind the steadily increasing average height in developed countries.

He is not the messiah.
I don't think anyone's claimed he's the saviour but your selling him short if you don't think he d add a different dimension to our fwd line
Also loving this "rating" of him off 1 game lol, then again most rate tabs off his 3 good games out of 50 so not sure why I'm surprised

That rating comes from a number of games this year. He's a good mark, but he can't kick straight, doesn't touch it enough, and doesn't do enough around the ground, and as Taylor says, we don't have the game to make the most of him. He's not better than Kersten on form. And they're the same height. We've got enough second and third talls, we need a KPF. IMO He's not it.

If we're gunna go for a bloke who can mark anything but can't kick straight, I'd rather we nab Casboult. At least he'd offer more structure-wise and allow our existing forwards to play their natural positions.

He could also take the ruck freeing Taberner and Cox to play strictly forward.

I rather freo develop their own , strnadica or a mature age players , not in a hurry in a rebuild . Will like casboult type if freo are top 4 side like 2015 .

It would just be nice to have a focal point for the next three or so years while strnadica is building, should he ever make it.

If recruiting a player like Casboult allows the rest of the side to play in their positions consistently and learn from that, then it's worth it.

Jesus he's only as good as Kersten now??...
I totally agree we need a true kpf but where is said kpf?.....the draft?....only brander measures up ATM and we re no guarantee to get him, free agency...Sam Reid ?....No chance....trade?...with what? Our 3rd rounder?,....so we just sit and wait and hope and continue this merry round argument of tabs v kersten?

Why is trading for McGovern or any other player of need constantly seen as an 'absolute' with some?.... look at it as just another piece in building a complete team as possible
