If stats can be believed he started the year at 191 cm and is now 193 cm so still growing. Allen thinks he can get to 195cm the height of his older brother ..

''My dad’s a bit taller than me and my oldest brother is about 195cm, so I still think I’ve got a couple of centimetres left in me,” Allen said.

Twomey lists him as 191cm. That must bug the shit out of vishy not being able to confirm how tall all these players really are!

If we are considering(and I hope we aren't) giving up a first round pick for Gov Jnr then we may be better off looking at Allen especially if he does grow another couple of cm which would get him to 195+

If Allen is available at our pick we should pick him up I think ..

Rough examples subject to much change ;

Pick 12 Allen / Brander / Sutherland (Fwds)
Pick 29 Brayshaw /Zac Bailey (Mids)
pick 46 Starcevich / Spargo (Mid-Fwds)
Pick 63 Braden Crossley {ruck)

Brayden Crossley is a Suns academy player I thought

And based on the game I saw him play against WA I don't think he'll be there at 63 in any case

Yeah not sure on Suns Academy and pick 63 probably too far back based on this I found ..

#NABAFLU18s MVPs: #AFLDraft
VM: Jack Higgins
WA: Aaron Naughton
SA: Harrison Petty
VC: James Worpel
Allies: Brayden Crossley

Queensland (Gold Coast Academy): Brodie Foster, Brayden Crossley, Harry Simmington, Jacob Dawson, Bailey Scott, Sam Davidson, Damien Burke, Timakoi Bowie, Caleb Graham, Kwaby Boakye

Definitely a GC academy player

Plenty to play out this season, so hard to make comment as of yet.
Will be watching Starcevich closely for the remainder. Disappointing Colts year after showing a lot in 2016, but performed well in the recent Champs. An option as a contested mid.

Cheers for that, I wasn`t sure what range he was or even if GCS would pick up ..

I'm hitting my head against a wall while I type thism

Hopefully we can try and get more out of NN. Have Vardy at FF and chipping in the ruck and have a couple of mobile talls. Most players I think get their true measurements done at the combine, would be interested to see if this kid does have a spurt and whether that might sky rockets his value.

Raynar would be the dream but I suspect he goes top 3
If I still had a left nut I'd give it to get him to West Coast

Instead he'll be at either Brisbane or North Melbourne. Poor kid

Very good friends with Venables as well. Since my nuts don't get much work I'll donate both to get him across

Player Focus

Playing a pivotal role in Western Australia winning their third of four Under-18 Championships game, the nephew of Collingwood's Craig Starcevich, Brandon Starcevich, 187cm, 88kg, helped the Western Australian midfield get on top. Starcevich gathered 22 disposals, 14 contested possessions, eight tackles, five clearances and one score assist.

What first jumps out at you with Starcevich is his power in the contest. He wins the ball at the goal face but also delivers a powerful "don't argue" and will barge through tackles with force and if unable to break the tackle, handball to a target without going to ground.

His courage was also notable, keeping his eyes on the ball, running forward with the flight, taking the mark and having the strength to hold onto the mark as he got hit hard.

The other impressive element against Victoria Country was his ball use. Nine of Starcevich's twelve kicks were effective, with a combination of long kicks and short kicks where he lowering his eyes and hit the target.

Starcevich may feature this year mid-draft as a powerful ball winning midfielder who can rest up forward.

Dark Sharks

Looks increasingly as though someone like Coleman-Jones as a 201cm FWD/Ruck should be available at our second rounder.

Western Australia has 4 AA U 18 players named and a great achievement by Suma to get a coaching recognition as well in his 1st year certainly had the WA boys playing a good brand of footy ..

I'm still of the opinion that the west aussie prospects this year aren't great and suma's coaching has actually made them seem better than they are. We don't need a key defender, Ainsworth for mine is 4th round onwards if he gets drafted and only really interested in allen if he tests above 193 at the combine and at this stage im not sure he's worth our first even if he does end up at 195cm. Actually TBH i see him as a 25-40 draft pick unless he does hugely better back at colts now that the champs have finished.
