Laver Cup is an odd, scheduling wise, it's probably best it's played later in the year but then we have Davis/Fed Cup Finals coming up.

Göerges wins a final this year on her 4th attempt, her 1st title in 6 years
Career finals record now 3-7.

She also qualifies for WTA Elite Finals in Zhuhai.

Julia has had a great year. Good for her.

Puig was also very emotional in her loss to Witthoeft(woo hoo. bout time girl. 1st WTA titles) but that was more due to Purto Rico rather than anything else.

This is the end of year ranking points per year. Halep this year is by far the lowest total. rare to find a player who lost in the 1st round x2 and without a Slam title finish number 1.

She has been helped by the fact that 4 of the 7 players who made slam finals missed a lot of tournaments.

Speaking of which barty smashed pavluchenkova 6-4 6-1 and the day before pavluchenkova beat Kerber so good result there I think

Wowee Barty beat Kerber in straight sets to qualify for semis. You can say the season is to long but I dont care if an Aussie is up there giant slaying haven't looked at the ranking points maybe she will crack a top 16 seeding for AO before Aussie summer of tennis even begins

Lot of the top girls AWOL this year but still Ash is going to finish the year a lot higher than I ever thought she would top out at (in singles at least).
