Here is a reminder of the league rules.

League Rules:

- Each team will have an extra bench position on their roster, which they can utilise when the player has a long term absence. The absence will need to keep the player out for at least 5 games. Once the player has missed 5 games in a row, the player is eligible to be placed on the injured list and replaced by another player. Each manager will have to notify the league through the Yahoo page when they are going to utilise their extra bench position. When the player returns from injury, the manager will have to notify the league who they are dropping to get the injured player back on their roster.

- Scoring is head-to-head.

- There will be a maximum of 50ish allowable moves for the season, depending on what Yahoo allow.

- You can trade in the trade period, throughout the draft period, as well as the regular season, though there will be late season deadline as always. Trades can be for players and picks. However trades have to be equal for the trade and draft period, otherwise teams rosters will be short. For example you cannot trade LeBron James for Pick 2 and 25, however you could do LeBron James and Pick 150 for Pick 2 and 25.

- Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
- Stat Cats: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL BLK, TO

Keeper Rules:

- Managers can keep a maximum of 5 players per year;
- Managers can only keep the same player for a maximum of two consecutive years;
- There are no further hard resets of rosters;
- A players value is the round they were originally drafted at (so all players taken in round 1 have a value of 1);
- Value does not effect trades in season ...it only comes into play once you choose to retain a player on your list for the next season;
- When a team chooses to keep a player they must of course pay a price - this price is the previous season draft round + 1 spot up (A player taken round 10 will cost you your round 9 pick);
- The only exception to this rule is if you do not have a higher pick - you are allowed to pay the same price (i.e. if I keep my round 3 pick from last season but I have traded for a round 3 pick last season that I want to keep also......I give up my round 2 choice and my round 3 choice);
- First round draft picks can obviously only cost you a first round draft pick;
- A players value is not lost when delisted ...I delist LeBron ...he carries his value forward as a round 1 selection;
- The following season - value is based on the previous seasons value not the original season;
- If a player is not drafted at all by any team in a season but is then picked up on the WW once the draft is officially complete - his value is 13; and
- If I want to keep 3 previously undrafted WW choices the following seasons it will cost me pick 13, 12 and 11.

I’m back and ready to be the first champ since Sniper to go back to back.

In regards to the keeper system, the example I put forward with the idea was:

“For example:
Year 1: Player drafts Steph Curry, KD, Boogie, Anthony Davis & Paul George (unrealistic obviously but used for example purposes)
Year 2: Player retains Steph Curry, KD, Anthony Davis and Paul George
Year 3: Player is still able to retain 5 players however is blocked from keeping Steph, KD, Davis or PG.
He/She would then be forced to assess the trade market to find somewhat similar value players or trade for pick swaps.”

This was based around a 2 year system. We ended up going with a 3 year system, so my understanding is that this is the last year we can nominate keepers we took in the 16/17 season.

I’m definitely back in again.

My understanding of the keeper rule was you can keep a player for a maximum of 3 years, definitely not a 4th year.

Ok everyone is confirmed. Welcome back all.

For those that have commented on the keeper rule, the common understanding seems to be that we can only keep the same player two times consecutively (leading to ownership of that player across three seasons). So we will proceed with that as the rule, unless anyone voices any major objections. This means this season will be the last time managers can keep players they originally drafted/acquired in 2016-17.

How does a keeper submission deadline of Friday September 7 sound?

The Kidds Crew keepers;

1. Kawhi "I didn't play a fu@#in game last season" Leonard
2. Victor Oladipo
6. Clint Capela
7. Gary Harris
8. Joel Embiid

Just on traded players. If I traded for a player last season does that mean I have control of them for the season they were traded for and two more seasons after the first year they were acquired?

Also when trading for a player is the position they fall in the draft based on when they were first drafted or when they were last drafted?

The answer to the first question is yes.

In relation to your second, players keeper values are based on their value from the most recent draft.

Hopefully this helps.

1. Damian Lillard (3rd year)
2. Nikola Jokic (3rd year)
3. Kevin Love (3rd year)
4. Klay Thompson (3rd year)
10. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (2nd year)

If we drop a player, then pick them up in the draft again I assume their time with the team starts again? So if I drop Favours, draft him again he is 1st year?

Correct. If they weren’t a keeper their time with your team reboots.
