What they'll want: As part of the planned celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of their ninth AFL/VFL premiership in 1968 when they defeated Essendon by three points, the Blues have asked to host the Bombers at the MCG early in the season. Carlton is keen to play a key role in Multicultural Round and has requested a slot that works for the AFL. In round one the Blues will open their season with the traditional clash against arch rival Richmond at the MCG.

The game the fans will be looking for: Any encounter with Essendon always sets the pulses racing among the Blues' faithful and next year's game celebrating the 1968 premiership will be no exception. - Howard Kotton

Will be freezing cold there. Anyone thinking of travelling down there better pack his thermals.
That it will be, really smart move to build a stadium next to the river. It's cold at night here even at the best of times.

Are we seriously playing more home games at Etihad than the MCG this year? What ON EARTH happened to slowing phasing that dump out?!

SIX at Etihad and five at the MCG. Not happy.

It's been like that since last year with the 6/5 split.

Contract with Etihad was renegotiated.

6 home games at Etihad and 5 at the MCG.
Mate we played six home games at the MCG last year and five at Etihad.

MCG: Richmond, Essendon and Sydney earlier in the year, and then Adelaide, Melbourne and the Dogs all in a row. Six.
Etihad: GC, North, GWS, Geelong and Hawthorn. Five.

This year, despite stating out intentions to play more at the 'G, we've been shafted with six at Etihad and five at the 'G.
