R2 v GC and R5 v WCE are must wins. We are also a good chance against North and Collingwood, could start 3-2 or even 4-1!

Dear Aph,

Today is a highly anticipated day on the football calendar, with the release of the 2018 AFL Fixture.

It’s exciting that we will play more Friday night football, with games scheduled against the Western Bulldogs, Sydney Swans and St Kilda. A Friday night home game in Round 3 against traditional rivals Collingwood at the MCG will also be a highlight for our Blues members.

Once again, we have the great privilege in opening the AFL season, with the blockbuster clash against Richmond on Thursday 22 March at the MCG.

In addition, we will return to prime-time, free-to-air television coverage on numerous occasions during the year.

An important change in season 2018 will see us play six home games at Etihad Stadium. We understand our members may have queries about the additional game at Etihad Stadium, however our successful negotiations with the AFL will result in a significant financial gain each time we play there.

The financial benefits of this deal will allow further investment into our football programs, and will assist in providing security for the long-term future of our club.

The draw will also provide family-friendly games across Saturday and Sunday afternoon timeslots. We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our 1968 premiership against traditional rival Essendon, in Round 8 at the MCG on Saturday 12 May at 2:10pm.

The team will play interstate on six occasions; travelling to take on Adelaide for the first time since 2010, Sydney, Perth, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and for the first time in the Club’s history, to Blundstone Arena in Hobart to play against North Melbourne in Round 4. These games will be a great opportunity for our club to further connect with our interstate members.

Thank you for your continued support of the Club this year.

See you at the footy in 2018.
