10 for betts. Good game but didn't think it was that good.
He did kick 4 goals, in those conditions. He was the only mutiple goal scorer on the ground, kicking 4 of 11 goals for the night. He kicked twice as many goals as the Bulldogs' entire team.

34 of those votes never played on the weekend

9 rounds in

44 guys competing for 30 votes a round. Around 7 of those each round polls

Profound.

It's not really a measure of his game though.

He was better and more influential than the 43 other players so he gets the 10

He would have played a heap of better games than that for us and got fewer votes or even no votes

If that's what warrants it I guess. Lots of games haven't seen 10 though right?

I'm not saying he wasn't very good. But 10 votes is usually reserved for a dominant performance.

I guess it's just the system of the voting

In many newspaper 'player of the year' awards, Betts may have been best on but only got a 7 or so, and those dominant performances by say a Fyfe get a 9 or 10

But with AFLCA there is 30 votes given out a game regardless - Both coaches thought Betts were best on and that's how it rolls

The reason why other games dont have a perfect 10 would be down to the two coaches having different perceptions on who was BOG

Votes are in for the R11 game vs GWS:

** For the record, no Adelaide player polled a single vote against Melbourne in R10. Shocker, I know - I expected us to totally dominate, after only losing by a mere 91pts. Actually, I thought Talia was an outside chance of picking up 1 or 2 votes, but apparently not.

So... the players who finished 1st & 2nd in our B&F last year have a grand total of 9 AFLCA votes between them, half way through 2018 (having barely played 5 fully fit games between them). Is there any wonder why we're currently outside the top-8?

Yes, you read that right. Doedee got 1 vote - presumably from Pyke.

Milera jumps into Adelaide's top-5. No points for consistency, but when he does poll he polls well.

Lynch above Laird for me. Danger above Selwood as well

My guess...

Coach 1
5. Laird
4. Milera
3. Lynch
2. Dangerfield
1. Hawkins

Coach 2
5. Sloane
4. Laird
3. Selwood
2. Lynch
1. Milera

Obviously Sloane, Lynch & Milera could all be changed around - but they definitely got their votes as 5-0, 4-1, and 3-2. Selwood definitely got his votes from a different coach to Dangerfield & Hawkins.
