Despite the AFL's attempt to dress it up, AFLX is a gimmick.

Freo's final chances revolve around Fyfe having a blockbuster year. If he is out for a significant time we are behind the 8 ball.

Why the hell is he being risked for some pissant exhibition game?

Dumb move, if you ask me.

If Taberner is going to get injured playing AFLX he will get injured in the JLT or round 1.

There is no guarantees with injury.

Why not? as son son said in his interview you can get injured any time, if I recall Fyfe got injured in his hotel room falling over a suitcase. Maybe we should make him sleep in a tent with a duffle bag for all his interstate game's.
And it can only get us lots of browny points with AFL house by embracing the new concept.

I agree with the OP, yes a player can get injured at anytime but I’d prefer them getting injured in round 1 where it means something as opposed to an AFLX game that means absolutely nothing...

We’ve got 20 players, not everyone will play nor will everyone take a flight to Adelaide. I’d be surprised if he or Sonson played.
10 per game I would think. Then play the strongest possible if we make the final. Winning culture is important.

If they get injured in AFLX, chances are they would be injured in JLT. It’s a good chance to add a little more conditioning and build to a hard edge. We need anything and everything we can get. Fyfe dominated the IRS and it helped set the tone for preseason.

If we were in premiership mode, maybe rest Fyfe. But we’re not. We are scraping the very bottom of the barrel. We are the laughing stock and that irrelevant west aussie team again. It’s great the Captain has put his hand up to help claw back respect - one irrelevant exhibition game at a time!

We are still playing 13/20 kids with under 50 games experience. And then another 3 most hope never pull on an AFL jumper again. It’s a very young team! But where’s Cerra??

No Cerra?

Copped a massive knock in the scratchie last Friday.
I was out by 3 players on that group we've named.
I had Wilson, North and Jones in. Out, of the players named I had Duman, Banfield and Pearce.

I was surprised when Lee Spurr said this format will suit the likes of Aaron Sandilands. I thought he was TTP.

I'm looking forward to this and as each game is only 20 minutes, I am tipping we take all named players over and probably play them all.

I like the concept.

What if I told you they're more likely to get injured round 1 if they don't play AFL X?

So glad Fyfe withdrew. No point risking your best player for a plastic franchise game. THE TIME HAS COME to wait until JLT to put your best foot forward
