Nah, not for Asian Champions league games etc. Swear they weren't there for some of the qualifiers last time round either.

Yeah, not for Champions League I don't think but I'm pretty sure they are actually there at all the Socceroos matches, along with a reporter like Daniel Garb who always does the post-match interviews etc. at the ground.

Quite enjoyed that last night. Playing in some obscure country and under the pump most of the time. You would think we will finish this campaign in a more modern environment. Then again if it's Russia it'll still be backward in some way.

Kyrgyzstan look better than a team ranked 177. Enthusiastic crowd getting behind the Kyrg's attacking mindset looked a good atmosphere. The ref however was the biggest disappointment of the night, made bad calls from both team's POV all night, that last goal summed it all up. Kyrgyzstan did deserve a goal from effort alone. Dat pitch doe.

First game they've ever had ticketed, usually its free for people to come in and watch.

Wasn't pretty but got the result and that's all that matters - getting off to a winning start. Suspect a lot of teams we come up against will 'rise to the occasion' when they play us (or any of the other heavyweight sides in the region, just take a look at Singapore holding Japan or Turkmenistan holding Iran). Another interesting result was Guam beating India.

Would have been nice to see Tomislav Mrcela get his first cap but the result is the most important outcome.

Good to see the Philippines getting off to a winning start! Iain Ramsey (Aussie who played for Melbourne City recently in the A League was one of the scorers). :thumbsu:
