2018 Best 22

Switkowski is the interesting one.

He has only played 2 wafl games, and then straight back into the seniors.

Must be rated highly internally.

Yeah, he seems to have something.

Swap Apeness for Dixon, and you have my best 22. I think we need to be more mobile in our front half.

I would like to see the bench spot, plus the two free forwards spot filled by quick agile players that know where the goals are e.g. I Hill, Kent and Switkowski

Weird to have Dixon as best 22 I think. He is exactly the "type', and there is reason to be optimistic, but no more than that for me.

I have liked Taberner roaming up the wing a bit and have to say that I am fine with him as the 20% ruckman, or at least for some of that 20% of the game that we need someone. The danger is if Darcy was injured during the game, but quite a few teams are in that situation. I am hoping all of Meek, Jones and Strnadica get their minds into the forward role over the off-season because I have the feeling Darcy is going to have the #1 spot locked down tight.

Regarding Unique's best 22, this is how I would work it.;

Logue - Hamling - Ryan
Wilson - APearce - Cerra
Langdon - Neale - B Hill
Walters - Cox - S Hill
Brayshaw - Taberner - Switkowski

Sandi - Fyfe - Blakely

Mundy - Duman - Pick 6 - Banfield

I would like to see Cerra and Brayshaw as starting players and think these positions are where they could have the most impact next year. I feel that hb could suit Cerra's learning curve and have him involved the most, plus his disposal and decision making would be real assets. Brayshaw can fill some of that defensive forward role while being a genuine ball winner forward. Both can and should roll into the midfield regularly.

Some really critical things could impact that 22;

• McCarthy needs to show us all that he can live and breathe football
• Bennell still has a lifeline
• So does Apeness
• Dixon may actually hit the fast track and become an immediate "in"
• Darcy versus Sandilands debate will get a run all season unless an injury forces things
