This is the moment I wonder if you or someone else would have picked Williams, I really wanted Taylor as well.
No williams never an option with these picks at gc however if he was available at essendons pick he would have come under serious consideration.

It was my pick.
I just think Rozee fits the Suns better.
Please watch the sanfl preliminary final. I think this highlights the player rozee can become. Also remember that as under 18s had hately, valente and Lewis who are really midfielders only which left limited time for rozee who played as a high hf. Connors professionalism and friendship with Jack certainly didn't hinder my call. I think there is a good chance this will happen on the night. Picking rozee here also just about guaranteed Bailey smith with the Suns next pick. Bailey will be a good player for a long time and has leadership written all over him.
Agreed. If The recruiting team are on the same page as Dew, Rozee is exactly the type of player that will fit Dew’s gameplan to a tee and we should select him over Rankine. I’ve seen a few comment that they think Rozee could become the best player out of this draft, would you agree?

It seems that Dew will cut anyone who can't or won't defend.

Rozee over Rankine would make sense.

Can't call who will be best player in the draft. Must remember rankine is a very special player I just don't think it is a great fit at Gold Coast right now.

At 3 I would have taken Rankine with his talent just so far ahead of everyone else and with Smith pretty well sure to be on the board at 6. The post of @17er actually convinced me greater confidence that Rankine may stick around for the long run and is the right fit.

'- Harbrow is the reigning B&F and considered an excellent mentor at the club, where he spends time with Indigenous players on the list and in the youth academy. Off the record, Jack Martin has credited Harbrow as a major factor in his continued loyalty to the club as he has almost single handedly turned around what was a bad record of Indigenous players leaving the club.'

It actually had an impact on me going with Stack with Gold Coast just needing talent and being that best available choice.

I had McHenry as my second consideration also and if Gold Coast want pressure, he's the guy, but I just can't overlook the best players there, with Stack like Rankine one of this drafts really damaging and impressive talents.

Yeah Rankine the most naturally talented player in it right now but just have a gut feeling that a solid 8.5/10 Rozee is what the Suns need and wantover a potential 9.5/10 Rankine, despite a lot of phantoms having us take Rankine.

Pick 33 Fremantle - Ned McHenry (178cm, 71kg from Geelong Falcons/Vic Country)

Quite an easy pick here for me, it's simply best available. In my write up for Sturt at #16, I mentioned that McHenry was one that I considered there. I didn't anticipate him being available with my second pick. But here he is.

I can only assume it's size that has seen him overlooked until now. Because the only real 'weakness' as such is a lack of straight line speed, which he makes up for with work rate and evasiveness. Otherwise his kicking for the most part is good, could maybe be cleaned up a touch. Only other thing I can think of is that some may question his role at the next level.

For me, I think he starts Round 1 next year as a small forward. He is by far the #1 tackler and pressure player in this draft. He had 38 tackles in 4 games for Vic Country at the Championships. He'll fight and chase as hard as just about anyone. But I expect him to transition into the midfield before too long. And I think Devon Smith is a good comparison on what to potentially expect. Part of the reason I'd have been happy taking him in the first round is because I really like his inside game. He's smart at stoppages, moves well in congestion and has that fighting attitude. All that coupled with his elite endurance suggests a midfielder in the making to me, and one who can be dangerous going forward.

Simply best available, but also fills a need for Fremantle. He can be that tackling presence in the forward 50 that we've sometimes missed, while also being developed as a long term replacement for Lachie Neale.

The bombers nominate Jarrod Cameron- West Coast NGA
I have done way too many nominations but an exciting quick small forward is high on our needs list.

Will you match Monocle

Nope I won’t match.
Happy for him to go where the market seems for the purpose of this mock.
Want to take my other picks for the purpose of getting players names up where I / we think they may be picked .

Can't be unhappy with that pick, and given that you don't favour Hill at our first, it gives an indication where alternative but similar players can be found (meaning small forward/mids). Our tackling definitely needs a sharp improvement.

We are getting a bit of a build up of sub 180cm players on our list, especially Crowden and Giro from last year. Kind of like the opposite end of our list ledger with our +200cm players in some weirdo list balancing based purely on average height.

How would you project that forward for us? Can they all find a role in a best 22? Is McHenry the best of the bunch?

Knowing who foj1 would have picked for Essendon I’m very annoyed that you didn’t match :p

Just on Hill, I've played devil's advocate a bit with him on the Fremantle board but I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with him. I do think there are better options at our first, but he's the local boy and brings the pace that we've been really lacking. My only issue is that I don't think he's the natural forward that he's being talked about as. For me, he's an outside midfielder. Not to say he can't be a good forward, but he'll have to learn it to a degree.

In terms of our sub 180cm players, McHenry would be the best of the bunch. Him and Walters would rotate through the forward line and midfield, Crowden off half forward with his tackling and foot skills would be a good fit. Giro would be more the WAFL ball magnet and depth outside midfielder. Even if we don't add McHenry, we've got interest in both Ian Hill and Tom Lewis so we could be adding to the smalls regardless.

He was close to being selected with Melbournes last two picks. Just unsure Melbourne would want McHenry, Bedford and Spargo in the same team.

I wrote the McHenry profile last night, feeling pretty confident you'd go with Kennerley. Who I agree is a better fit for Melbourne.

Love this pick, Chris25. Sturt and McHenry would be a great return.

Sturt McHenry Lobb and Hogan all in the same draft/trade period!

What an investment in the forward line. Much needed and makes Freo relevant again. Will David Hale and Ross be able to change their game plan quick enough to use them?

Gold Coast - Pick 32 - Sydney Stack
This seems like a poorly thought out pick. Indigenous lad with attitude problems going to the most poorly run club in the AFL lacking strong culture and leadership, could be a car crash. With Dew's removal of players with poor attitudes and their almost over abundance of similar on field players, I can't see how you justify this pick.

Out of interest if the bid had been matched, could you say who you would have gone next?
