Rumour is that you guys are getting in on the McGovern deal, trading 13 to us for the picks 26 and 28 we get from the Blues.

I’d assume you’d be happy with this, as it gives you more points for Blakey?

There really is no patience on this board is there? Just a constant need for instant gratification and little tantrums when this fails to eventuate...

The success of a trade and draft period isn't measured by who makes the most noise in the media or who makes the most deals in the first 48 hours. It is a marathon, not a sprint. It is a complex situation. Obviously a major move for us is Hannebery to the Saints, getting that donr will then shape what other moves we can and will make, so we are prioritising getting that done. At the same time St Kilda are involved in a bunch of other negotiations and will have their own sets of priorities, so things don't just happen instantly. Beatson and Dalrymple are two of the best in the business, Harley and Gardiner are both very intelligent, have some faith!

I’m just annoyed we haven’t won a single game this month

West Coast might trump that in their search for a pick to satisfy Geelong for Kelly depending what they get for Lycett.

Depends if they get in early enough, sounds like it’s pretty much been agreed to. Could well happen, though

Besides, would WCE take 13 for 20 and 22? And would Geelong take 13 for Kelly (it’s not a top 10 pick)?

I reckon thats why WC is getting in quick with negotiations. They don't want someone else to get it before they have a chance. Especially as no other team good really offer 2 better picks in the 20's

Yeah i edited after haha.

They might have to settle for it. Top 10 pick is their anchor.

Sydney’s dead line is 2pm tomorrow so better make it happen

There’s no way our list management team are stupid enough to think they just add Blakey and another draftee or two, ditch Hanners and Rohan and have a contending side , patience mate

Whether we land a big fish or not, it's really irrelevant. Whichever slightly better than average players come to us, who are still out there, nothing's really going to change...

The current list we have now is still good enough to push for a premiership. Our team now is probably at the perfect balance. Improving young guys mixed with established stars/vets. Our young guys of, Jones, Mills, Hayward, Papley, Florent, Allir, Lloyd and Hewett are players getting better each season and have all played enough football to only continue to improve. Buddy, JPK and Parker will still be solid. McVeigh the general is still all class, and Redge/Smith are still solid backman that can do a job.

At the end of the day, it's all about coaching and staying healthy. We all know that if guys like Naismith, Mills, Melican and Reid were healthy, we would've been much much better. All we needed was just Sam Reid at least! He's got a better set of hands than bud, takes good contested marks and takes so much pressure off Buddy and stops teams from doubling Bud. Our whole attack changes when Reid is in... Oh, and I haven't gotten to Naismith who pushes Sinclair forward more where he is much more effective...

I'd rather see us experiment with what we have already, I'd love to see guys like Aliir and Rampe around the stoppages. Both are big and can use their size to win the ball. We all know Aliir is a freak athlete, and Rample really looks to be bulking up a little bit. Would like to see Jones around the middle as well, with his speed and skill, he can really be a silky player to win centre clearances. Let's also not forget about Mills..

If there's one player we really want... Should be Tom Langdon. It means we can take either Aliir or Rampe out of the back potentially. Tom Langdon is also a gun, carried that entire Collingwood backline the whole year who were constantly hit with injuries. A backline of Redge, Smith, Langdon, Melican, Lloyd and McVeigh would be interesting. And of course guys like Rample and Alliir can be utilities and switch from back-mid through out the game. It's time we roll the dice i think. Aliir forward to help buddy would be so interesting as well...

Other than Shiel or Gaff who are now gone, there's really no player out there who will make us any better? Rather Horse gets his finger out of his ass and makes some changes to our system and experiments with out players.

Rant over:)

I don’t understand, 13 is your own first? 20 and 21 have nothing to do with it

Unless you’re thinking of WCE’s picks for Kelly, but they’re irrelevant if this deal is agreed to
