Unless there thinking Rampe moves up the ground I don’t think IMO we need an undersized defender in Langdon
Could be more about moving Mills up the ground perhaps.

Tend to agree though in general.

I’d like a really tall defender ~197+ if any. Hard to come by.

Grimlock (perhaps not in this forum...) mentioned he had heard we were into Dougal Howard from Port early on the piece, but no noise about that so either not true or perhaps Port gave us the finger lol

From the few Port games I saw I liked the look of him.

I don't get it. We actually lost on that trade. Pick 13 for two 20's second rounders. What a joke. If it were one second and one fourth then that is a win. But two second for a first. **** off

Didn’t quite your long post for my brief thoughts!

Re: Aliir around the ball and up forward I really don’t rate. To me he doesn’t have the footy nous to know where to position himself. He is however excellent at reading the incoming ball and his one on one is improving significantly. I would want to keep him down back where I reckon he will be at his best.

Agreed.

I was arguing his case, more to do with his athletic abilities. Although he's a brick wall at times down back, he makes some bloody stupid mistakes and gives up the crucial goal... did it a number of times this season. I just feel it's worth an experiment, that's all.

Just love to see him use his size and athletic ability to win the ball.

Any good footballer should be welcome Punts regardless where he plays because we saw plenty of bad ones playing in the 22 during 2018. Various reasons contributed to that, but lets face it our depth didn't cut it and unlike some other surprise packets like Collingwood who suffered the same injury adversity if not worse, the troops didn't exactly stand up.

Certainly understand where you’re coming from. That is what Aliir was doing in the NEAFL for a while. He will improve.

Certainly a pinch hit in the ruck from time to time won’t hurt.

There really is no patience on this board is there? Just a constant need for instant gratification and little tantrums when this fails to eventuate...

The success of a trade and draft period isn't measured by who makes the most noise in the media or who makes the most deals in the first 48 hours. It is a marathon, not a sprint. It is a complex situation. Obviously a major move for us is Hannebery to the Saints, getting that donr will then shape what other moves we can and will make, so we are prioritising getting that done. At the same time St Kilda are involved in a bunch of other negotiations and will have their own sets of priorities, so things don't just happen instantly. Beatson and Dalrymple are two of the best in the business, Harley and Gardiner are both very intelligent, have some faith!
Yeh, pretty much, all round spot on.
