Murray for a second rounder...

It is swings and roundabouts, sometimes you over pay, sometimes you under pay, sometimes a fair deal is made. I reckon fans of most clubs think they don't get enough value for their players or are forced to pay too much for others.

Can we at least wait until the end of the draft to see how it pans out for us before we criticise? 13 for these two picks may just be the start of something.
I was just thinking along these lines.

Adelaide want to get into the top 5 to try and get one of the top end SA talents. So maybe it is angling towards this and the Hannebery trade?

This might be slightly uneven and it might need other picks but just musing!

This assumes that we get #26 and #28 for #13 as reported.

Three way trade with Crows, Saints and us.

Adelaide:
Out: #8, #16, #21
In: #4 (Stk), #26 (SYD)

Saints:
Out: #4
In: Hannebery, #16 (Crows), #21 (Crows)

Swans:
Out: Hannebery, #26
In: #8 (Crows)

Swans would have #8, #28, #33, #38, #69

Not perfect but there is something potentially workable there.

In effect we’d get #8, #28 for Hannebery and #13

If a bid didn’t come early we could use later picks for Blakey and get another top 10 talent, or we could trade 8 for another player.

If we kept it and the bid came at 7 (because we wouldn’t choose him at 8), we’d pick up another pick around #53.

Just throwing it out there.

So you think we should pass on him then?

Looking forward to you being very wrong about this.
I hope I’m wrong aswell. Imo we should’ve done something to move a few more places up the draft rather than trade out for 2 later picks because I don’t think other clubs are going to be fooled by him. Could’ve snapped him up with our second

He’s not very athletic despite being straw weight, and adding size means he’ll lose some speed and agility. He’ll have to put on atleast 20kgs before debuting.

Watching him play he reminds me of a Mitch Morton/Nathan ablett. Except the forward coach has his work cut out trying to teach him that he has to kick the ball through the big sticks from set shots. He’s a very odd kick at goal

So here we go.
Lloyd saying that Blakey is a pick 7 or 8 but Bailey Scott, a father/ son for Naught Melbourne, is a third round pick.
Let the talking down begin for the good of AVFL.
lol if you think B. Scott is anywhere near Blakey. There is a reason Lloyd is saying that.

Blakey is quality and rightly so thought of as a top 10 pick.

As far as I’m aware it’s twins under 2 and the third (elder) one has some medical issues. I think he probably has legitimate go home factor.

Please read above. He’s fine with Geelong, it’s more his immediate family that is really struggling.

I’m 50/50 on this one. What I do hope is that Geelong get what they want and deserve.

WC probably took 25 draft picks between him being eligible and actually getting drafted, he was right under their nose that whole time too. I’m expecting this to be Brander and pick 22 for Kelly
How about I know a lot more about what’s going on than what you understand because you’ve read it in the media? The perks of living where I live and knowing who I know! Next time you quote me, please read what I’ve written.
