Hannebery on Roughead.

I'm not convinced that Langdon can compete with those bigger talls. I haven't seen enough of him in those sort of roles, so he very well may.
But Rampe can't. And if Aliir has to it takes away from his strengths. Leaving just Melican. So to me that is inadequate, and I don't see how swapping Grundy for Langdon will help us compete better in the air.

I really haven't seen enough of Langdon to know whether he is worth it. But I'm real doubtful that a defense heavy 22 is a good model.

A few years ago when Geelong cut Hamling I thought he was too good for VFL but we already had Rampe and Laidler. Now I wish we'd picked him up just to thwart the Bulldogs doing so.
Completely agree with this assessment, I think we're backing Aliir to improve his 1 on 1 work to become a real complete key defender but wouldn't mind looking for another tall take the mantle once Grundy eventually retires.

There was talk we were fishing around Essendon earlier, I still believe Hartley would be a good get and one for very cheap. This would allow us to find the best matchups between our talls when necessary and ensure Aliir doesn't get bogged down playing baby sitting duties

I guess it allows what we can do with Langdon is the major benefit

He allows the likes of jones and mills to head up the ground

Aliir will have to play taller if they want Langdon playing the loose

But for a first rounder IMO no

At the end of the day he is still only a 3rd tall

How much we paying him in 2019 i wonder
We are not paying him anything in 2019!

But some of his salary will be included in the cap in 2019.

Oh and we weren’t paying him $1m a year either, it was around the $700k mark by all accounts after we extended out the deal.

Offer the Pies a first round pick or the mystery box

guarantee they will take the box

Hanneberry & 26 for Neale?
Fremantle want an early first round selection and an mid round selection for Neale.

Hanner's wants to go to St Kilda.

I don't think this is happening. (We would have likely inquired about Neale early on, but been priced out of the equation by Fremantle).

Must be the same agent that Moore has. I now feel that Moore was never planning on coming to Sydney.
Happens all the time. There is no logical reason why Langdon would want to leave. Playing great footy, in a successful team, melbourne boy. I would say there is about a 5% chance of him coming to Sydney. Eventually he will resign with Collingwood, even if it is on significant less than he can get elsewhere.
